Eiko
I read aticles from CrossOver official website, in one aticle, it says CrossOver actually implemented the windows API, that's why windows application can run on it. But in this case, how about virus ? They should also be able to run via CrossOver since they have API bounds ? It sounds to me not a very safe method to use win apps Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/34989-safe-to-use-crossover/ Share on other sites
lord_muad_dib
off course you're not safe, but crossover's structure should prevent virus propagation outside the bottle Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/34989-safe-to-use-crossover/#findComment-248381 Share on other sites
nevermind1331
you are safe, even if a virus did infect you, it would be a windows virus, which would have no effect on your system drive, probably just the psuedo c: drive wine creates. also, wine is not coded this way, and i doubt there are windows viruses that will run on wine. youll be safe from viruses. bugs however, of course not.
