Hello everyone,

I need some help. Everything worked fine with my hackintosh with the integrated gma950 except I was unable to play some 1080i content, i think the kind with the more compressed h264 type. So I went through the process of trial and error until I got 10.4.8 fully working with titan hooked up with a fairly cheap geforce 6600. I thought that since I was no longer using integrated graphics my system would improve and maybe I would be able to play 1080i/p no problem. Now my xbench has gone down dramatically. My opengl score was in the 180's and now it is 106.45. Quatrz graphics test and user interface test went down a little too! I'm not really a gamer so I didn't bother buying an expensive card, but is the 6600 really a downgrade from integrated graphics? If so, what should I try next. My specs are Dell E510/Dimension 5150 Pentium 4 630 3ghz 2gb PC24200. Thanks in advanc3

Yea agreed if it worked then why complain except I can't play 720p or even divx anymore. I used to play divx with a CPU util of 8-14% and now it is maxed out between 80 & 145% Could my card be faulty or would that mean no video at all? Maybe i should stick with gma950!?

I am having a similar experience. I just upgraded my video from a gma900 to a geforce 7600gt and my OpenGL went from 180 to 96 in xbench. I am using the Natit_Dual_v0.2 kext. Since you can buy an iMac with a 7600gt you would think my card could be fully supported, but it _seems_ as though natit isn't giving me complete support. Can anyone shed some light on on why this could be? I know natit has been developed more since the version I am using...is there a better version that will still continue to give me dual dvi support on my card? I have just seen some users who have extremely high xbench scores using x1600s (at least compared to my 7600gt) when I think they should be comparable. Does the fact that we are still not using EFI on our osx86 boxes have anything to do with this apparent lack of performance? Thanks in advance to anyone who can give some input.

I was beginning to think that my 6600 was junk, but now the same thing with a 7600gt!?! I found that my 6600 's core was proly only running at 325mhz while the 950 was running at 400mhz, so I thought this could be the problem. Now a core running at 560mhz (7600gt) is not an improvement over gma900 ( ithink 333mhz core). If it is just xbench then let it be, however, ForNeverEnding, Do you find gaming/video performance to have decreased in real world applications? Thanks for the reply.

Xbench results are very low with all nVidia cards on Natit/Titan. Game speed is OK however, for example my former 7600GS could run Quake 4 very nicely at 1280x1024. GMA950 gets something between 1 and 2 fps. I have not had problems in any games or other software, BUT in Aperture I do have a strange lagging with the adjustment sliders, which was not there with GMA950. And of course I also have the poor Xbench syndrome.

So, there is something wrong with all nvidia methods at the moment, but it doesn't seem to affect many real life situations. But it would be worth investigating.

unityemissions, unfortunately I haven't played any games using os x...the main reason for my upgrade was for dual screen compatibility using xp, vista, linux, and os x with the possibility to run games in windows. I am just hoping to get full support in os x so that I can use the cards full potential in the future.

Interestingly enough, I swapped out a 7900GS (256 Mb PCIe) in my Hack with my son's X1600XT (512 Mb PCIe) in his Hack, and I'm using Natit_uni 1.0 on both:

His Xbench scores went up (with 7900GS) and my Xbench scores went down (with X1600XT). Same thing the other way around, so Xbench scores are actually higher with the 7900GS.

Also, keep in mind that the GMA950 is supported natively (e.g. no mod's...out of the box), while ATI and NVidia are all Hacks...I'm sure the drivers for natively supported hardware, written by Apple, are probably more efficient than modified drivers.

Just my 2 cents.
