REVENGE
Newegg.com currently has a ENCORE ENUWI-G IEEE 802.11b/g USB 2.0 Wireless Adapter for $20.99 with a $20 rebate and free shipping. Price comes out to be below $2 [even for states with tax] shipped. Sure, the damn thing looks ugly as hell, but it is reliable and comes with no fuss drivers for all different major OS platforms [standalone drivers for Windows, OS X, and Linux]. The Zydas chip itself is a robust and reliable design, now under the control of Atheros. The OS X community reports that in order for the driver to work, you might need to insert product and vendor id codes into the driver's Info.plist to match your specific adapter. This can be easily done by checking in Sys Profiler under USB devices for the proper ids, then editing the kext's Info.plist. Sounds like a good deal to me for getting cheap wireless up and running. Sabr
Whenever I buy something because of the rebate, I never get it. I have sent off 4 or 5 rebates for computer parts, and never got a single penny/cent. Let me know if you get it.
LawRobertson
According to this site: http://zd1211.ath.cx/ some Encore Enuwi-G are not ZD1211 chipset based. Sadly. Some of them have SiS163u chipset, like mine. I just checked my WinXP controller file. So no wireless for me, unless I buy another stick.
