droida
I got a Catalina 10.15.5 installation running on a Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD5H with the Intel Core i7 4770K using its Intel HD4600 iGPU. Since Catalina I can't get it working with hardware acceleration. I'm only getting 8MB of video memory. Has someone of you got this iGPU working on this specific board with this specific CPU? I'm looking forward for any hints.

droida
Hi @Cyberdevs, I'm using Clover@5119. I'm tyring to get it working with Lilu+WEG and device properties for the platform and device id. As soon as I'm trying to use these I'm getting a kernel panic when reaching the gIOScreenLockState. When I'm simply trying to use the Intel Inject combined with the platform ID "0x0D220003" I'm getting a kernel panic as well. (which worked for years now on the older macOS versions) When I'm adding the fake id "0x0412" I'm getting through the boot but only with 8MBs of video memory. You don't need a fake ID, this is how my Graphics section looks like, no other settings is required, you can even remove Inject Intel, WEG will take care of it. droida
Mmmh ok. After reading through the WEG documentation I did exactly that. And I've tried this setup but no luck. As soon as I reach the gIOScreenLockState I'm getting a kernel panic. Is the ig-platform-id required? (I got it just interested if it is required to work)

When I add the fake id in the clover boot options manually it boots up but still 8MB of v memory. Are there more logs to track the problem down? Or is it just the bit that macOS shows after restart? Guest ricoc90
For my P4600 I had to use FakeID 0x04128086 with platform ID 0x0d220003 otherwise I would also get a Kernel Panic. Edited July 11, 2020 by ricoc90
droida
Oh nice I will try that one out immediately.
droida
@ricoc90 Mmmh tried that one out but didn't work. Kernel panic again. As soon as I switched to 0x0412 it booted but 8MB. I looked at my working 10.12 which got me in Hackintool: So in 10.12 it worked excactly with the device id you mentioned. Mmmm I got no more idea what is going on. droida
Ok I took a step back and tried to configure WEG with the correct platform id and device id in the Properties section like: <key>Properties</key> <dict> <key>PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0)</key> <dict> <key>AAPL,ig-platform-id</key> <data>AwAiDQ==</data> <key>device-id</key> <data>hoASBA==</data> </dict> </dict> This does indeed boot but still 8MB but somehow it does now detect the HD4600: So the current framebuffer does show me the correct platform id but an incorrect device id. But OSX does show me the correct device id. (somehow) So it goes in the right direction but I'm not sure what is wrong. I dropped the whole "Inject Intel, platform id, and fake id" in the clover config and replaced it with the Properties. Have you got any ideas? Cyberdevs
@droida The only difference is that my graphic memory is set to 128 but I'm not sure if that's the issue.
droida
Mmmh yeah I will try that one out tomorrow. I had it set to 128M in the past but that was during the kernel panics. So without the kernel panic it could be another try. On 10.12 it ran definitely with 64M. But I'll give it a try. I searched through the DarwinDump Logs but to be honest I have no idea what to search for in detail.
Cyberdevs
when you use a FakeID for the GPU you also need to select FixDisplay under the ACPI fixes otherwise it won't work, have you done that when you used FakeID 0x04128086? I just booted my system with your efi without changing anything and it recognized the iGPU correctly.

I assume that this is also needed when using the properties for configuration of the device and platform id. Right? Thank you very much for today you helped me out a lot! I came across an EFI folder form a similar rig and you can give it a try later and see if it helps. CLOVER.zip
droida
Ok FixDisplay in combination with the Intel inject and correct id's didn't work either. As soon as I switch to device ID 0x04128086 there is a kernel panic. I've tried the patches from the clover you linked me but they have no affect. Are there any logs that show in more detail what is going wrong?
