zam
First: do you have a SSE3 capable CPU? If your CPU is only SSE2 capable, then there AFAIK is no way of making itunes 7 work. Secondly: have you changed your network interface card after you installed your OS X? If you have, you either have to reinstall the whole s**t again from scratch, or put the old NIC back. zam
Yep... I'm sorry, but this seems to be the case. I have not seen anyone other confirm this iTunes <-> NIC dependency, so this is only my own theory based on my own limited empirical studies. I have no idea where iTunes keeps the record of your NIC's MAC-address. If we knew that, a full reinstall would probably not be necessary... gufus
I could solve this problem without reinstalling: I used a second disk and installed Mac OS X there. I then copied the files - NetworkInterfaces.plist - preferences.plist in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration to the same folder in the old installation and guess what, it worked. maybe it even works by just deleting these files. hope this can be reproduced. danielharker
hey, I'm in the same boat as the other dude, I've switched my NIC like a million times. I think the problem with re-installing the software, is that I have to install it in VMWARE because my harddrive isn't supported at first, then I have to go in and modify some KEXT files, so since VMWARE emulates a network card, I don't think it would work to re-install it. Do you think it would? If not, are there any other ways around this? I've already tried app - zapping it. cheers, Danny H
Qweedle Guy
I use iTunes 6 and I have the same problem. I also use SSE2. The only time I get the memory error is when I try to authorize my computer or preview a song. I haven't tried to download a song because everytime it asks me for my password i get the not enough memory error.
