haoyouandme
Hello: I install hackintosh Catalina 10.15.4, I need some help: If I shut down my Hackintosh, it will reboot. If I sleep my Hackintosh, it never wakes up until I force to reboot it or shutdown it. Can you help me to solve this problem? luki1979
You got a lot of kexts in there and unpatched USB. Some kexts are old and unnecessary for your system. Test with USB installer which ones you don't need and move them to your Off folder. You should only need Lilu, Virtual SMC, WhateverGreen, USBInjectAll and your networking kexts. After that carefully read guides how to patch your USB with Hackintool and replace USBInjectAll with custom kext+ssdt that Hackintool produce for you. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/343443-asrock-z390pro4-9900es-5700xt-it-dont-shutdown-just-reboot/#findComment-2717745 Share on other sites
elliotgrime
I had this same issue of shutdown causes reboot on MSI z370 Gaming Pro Carbon. I had everything set up correctly, USB was mapped, and the system was running perfectly. it was a vanilla install with only necessary Kexts. I couldn’t find a solution anywhere... I tried different SSDT’s, Kexts, and various DSDT patches. For example USB-Shutdown-Fix SSDT was one of the many supposed fixes that did nothing except cause a kernel hang during shutdown. I ended up fixing it after about 2 weeks of trial and error by finding a setting in my BIOS which disabled the OS ability to resume the system and additionally the ability to resume via USB. I’m on my phone right now but if I remember it correctly the setting in the BIOS was located something like this: Load BIOS > Advanced Settings > Wake Up Event Setup I then made sure that the setting ‘Wake Up Event By’ was set to BIOS (not OS) and the setting ‘Resume By USB’ is disabled. I also had every other setting disabled (such as resume by LAN and PCI-e etc). I don’t know 1) if you will have these setting available on your BIOS, 2) if these settings will fix your issue with inability to resume after sleep (I never had that issue), or 3) this will help you at all... but I hope it does! The only downside is I can no longer wake up the system by using either a keyboard click or by moving the mouse; rather I have to press the power button on the case. This isn’t a problem for me though because my PC is located right next to me. I haven’t had time to play around with these settings and figure out what I can have turned off and turned on to maintain the most system functionality, so please know that you may be able to find better settings for your workflow/situation. An unexpected positive is that my cats no longer wake my PC while wandering across my desk at 4am. Hope this helps!!! Sorry if it doesn’t.
