brunomotter
Hello folks! I have 5 video editing rigs and ALL of them suffer from sudden reboots when I'm using heavy graphics applications. Let me explain myself. All my rigs have NVIDIA cards as I use mainly Adobe Premiere which benefits from CUDA technology. My mos recent rig is as follows: Z370M Aorus Gaming Core i7 8700 GTX 1070 SC2 From EVGA 16GB DDR4 2400MHZ Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM(2X8GB) Samsung 960 EVO NVME 500GB SSD for system and apps 2X Barracuda 2TB HDDs in RAID 0 for my projects Corsair 650W + Bronze PSU Corsair H45 Hydro Cooler for CPU I manage to consistently reproduce the problem just leaving Premiere and After Effects open without any projects loaded and firing up 20 tabs in safari playing youtube videos. The issue also happens when I'm just editing in Premiere with heavy projects. Already tried a LOT of things, such as updating OS and NVIDIA drivers, updating primary kexts such as FakeSMC, FakePCIID, USBinjectAll and AppleALC. Also updated AptioDriver and APFS and NVM drivers to latest versions. When system reboots a system report is generated and NVIDIA Driver is ALWAYS in backtrace. I will paste here a crash log that happened right after one of the reboots to see if anyone can give me a light. I replaced the video card in this system with a Vega 56 Strix and the problem got 100% solved, but I have a HEAVY bad luck as 1 week after replacing the card I had to send it for RMA because the card decided to die and now until I get my Vega back I will have to stick with the NVIDIA 1070 card. Also I have my other 4 rigs which at this time I can't swap for Vega cards as they are expensive! Any help would be REALLY appreciated! Thanks. Here is my crash report: _________________________________________________________ Spoiler Anonymous UUID: 67C98403-EB42-2477-8A82-03A7211F3840 Fri Sep 21 09:43:54 2018 *** Panic Report *** panic(cpu brunomotter
Hello! Well... Still experiencing the reboots... It’s really frustrating because it happens all the time! Any hints regarding this issue? I’m studying dsdt and ssdt editing and will try to generate those for my machines. I really think it’s a VRAM management issue that’s happening in my systems! Nancy10
I have this problem too, like exactly this. and it happened with me even before upgrading to 10.13.6. *The Nvidia card change is not really that influential right ? like OSX doesn't rely on it for graphic rendering, right ?
