Doesn't OCLP install kexts and bundles in S/L/E? Yes, it does. Why not add this functionality to Hackintoool? 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/335018-hackintool-v3xx/page/43/#findComment-2828496 Share on other sites

I am looking for a secure method to install Kext drivers (Kernel Extensions) as well as other types of system extensions, such as .bundle files, on macOS Sequoia. The reason I cannot use the current version of Hackintool is that this tool exclusively allows moving Kext files to the /System/Library directory. It does not support the relocation or installation of other system extensions. Unfortunately, this is insufficient for my specific requirements, as I need to install these extensions in `/System/Library/Extensions` (S/L/E). If anyone has useful instructions or detailed guidance that meets these requirements, I would be very grateful for your support. Attempts to bypass write protection using terminal commands or by disabling System Integrity Protection (SIP) and the Gatekeeper have unfortunately failed in my case. A better alternative would be if a future version of Hackintool could meet the requirements described above. You can use MyKextInstaller, it works from macOS Big Sur to macOS Tahoe, it installs kexts and bundle files. 3 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/335018-hackintool-v3xx/page/43/#findComment-2842118 Share on other sites
mnfesq
I am posting this here because I don't know where else to put it. I have a problem with the configuration of my Chrome Box 3-N7068U. It's an 8th gen. Intel system and it works great with one exception. When it wakes from sleep, I have a couple apps that do not work, including Hackintool. I know that the problem is not Hackintool because, if I reboot, Hackintool works just fine. But I thought maybe @headkaze or another developer might be able to help me figure out what's going on. When I open the app after waking from sleep, the app opens and the gray box appears but none of the text will open. Instead, it just hangs and I get the spinning beach ball. I'm assuming that some framework is being invoked that can't load and I am looking for clues that might tell me what isn't waking up properly in my system. Any idea what makes the text inside the app display? That might lead me in the right direction. Thanks. P.S. - In addition to Hackintool, the calibre ebook reader has the same problem opening. The page opens but none of the text will open inside it. Also, If the admin for this section thinks this is better posted in the power management section of the forum, so be it. deeveedee
@mnfesq I have blind guesses, but it would be helpful to see your EFI. If you don't figure it out, please post your EFI with the CPU and chipset of your PC. Also, does your PC's BIOS include options to configure Intel Management Engine and/or DVMT pre-alloc? If so, what are the BIOS options and how do you have them configured? EDIT: I think you should probably create a thread dedicated to your hack's issue. I have looked at the video settings for my Chrome Box 3 N7068U and haven't come up with a solution so I return and humbly request your input. Here are my hardware specs: Intel 8th Gen. i7-8850U CPU - Kabylake-R with Intel UHD 620 integrated graphics, 16 GB DDR4, HDMI output, USB and USB-C, Broadcom wifi and bluetooth. Here's the kicker: This is a Chrome Box that was stripped of its Chrome firmware and replaced with MrChromeBox firmware, a full-UEFI firmware based on coreboot and an open source EDK payload. It is not configurable like the BIOS for a desktop computer or even a laptop. Therefore, solutions that involve BIOS settings are not a viable option for me although, I am able to boot and run macOS Sequoia just fine - I just have this one problem with certain apps not working after the unit wakes from sleep, and the apps that have problems are apps where there is some type of frame that is populated with text. Here's what it looks like when I open Hackintool after sleep. The main app window opens but the text never populates and it just hangs there. As you requested, here is my config.plist. You can assume that everything that is listed there is accurately contained in the other folders and are up-to-date. config.plist.zip Thanks for any input you might have. I have a whole new problem now because I tried updating the firmware for my Chrome Box. Now, my issue is getting OC to load. I have posted about it in the OC thread. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/335018-hackintool-v3xx/page/43/#findComment-2847278 Share on other sites
kaoskinkae
The Airportltlwm.kext kext and the latest version of Hackintool v4.1.5 either don't display the Kext (Current) section or it's blank. I don't know if it's due to the OCLP (OpenCore Legacy Patcher) issue; in my case, see OLD2 equipment: but version 2.3.0 isn't correctly represented. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/335018-hackintool-v3xx/page/43/#findComment-2849795 Share on other sites
