GA-X299 / i9-7900x HS Installed!! Couple Questions

I have successfully installed 10.13.4 on my Gigabyte X299 UD4 with i9-7900x and am very excited.

I have a couple issues:

  • Sleep = Reboots when wake
  • CPU = About this Mac shows 3.31GHz as Unknown (see picture below)
  • USB 3.0 not working

I am hoping someone can help me on this. Not sure if a DSDT or SSDT is needed which I don't now how to do. :(

My Specs: Gigabyte X299 UD4 • i9-7900x • Nvidia 970 • Samsung 960 EVO NVME M.2 SSD

if boot is fine, send me new SEND_ME after reboot

Of course it boots fine Maldon, you touched it! I looked at About This Mac and the CPU now shows up as 3.31GHz 10-Core Intel Xeon E5 (see picture below) AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't't check anything else.

Here are the SendMe Files:

Thank you! I will be testing it.

No, sleep does not work. It reboots when I wake it.

for sleep try a darkwake options

I tired all Darwake options but all still make the machine reboot when awaken.

So I tried creating a SSDT (not sure if I did it right) but still the same issue. Can you take a peek at it for me? Below I have my RunMe files.

My Specs: 10.13.4 | Gigabyte X299 UD4 | i9-7900x | Nvidia 970

Hi Maldon! OK, I will get rid of the SSDT. Where can I check to see if device is RTC or USB Asmedia? Thanks for taking the time to help!!!!!! :)

I'm not 100% sure what RTC or USB Asmedia means so I tried googling. My motherboard is Gigabyte X299 UD4 and It looks like ASmedia is Asus from what I can tell.

MY Specs: 10.13.4 • Gigabyte X299 UD4 • i9-7900x • Nvidia GTX 970 • Corsair Hydro Series H110i

I researched BIOS settings from other X299 Hackintoshes and made some changes but the machine still restarts when awaken from sleep. I even tried all the Darkwake options with the new BIOS settings again but still same sleep problem.

My New RunMe Files: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IZpJ9gfENVR1nvMHXNQoRPrLBNAsK7NX/view?usp=sharing

BIOS Settings I used

1.) /M.I.T/Advanced Frequency Settings/
a.) Extreme Memory Profile: (X.M.P): Profile1

I did not have the above option

2.) /M.I.T/Advanced Frequency Settings/Advanced CPU Core Settings
a.) Active Cores Control: Manual
b.) Hyper-Threading Technology: Enabled
c.) Enhanced Multi-Core Performance: enabled/disabled (optional; individual CPU compatibility yet to be verified)
d.) CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E): Enabled
e.) C6/C7 State Support: Enabled
f.) Package C State limit: C6
g.) CPU EIST Function: Disabled

3.) /M.I.T/Advanced Memory Settings/
a.) Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P): Profile1

I did not have the above option

4.) /BIOS/
a.) Boot Numlock State: Disabled
b.) Security option: Setup
c.) Full Screen Logo Show: Enbabled
d.) Fast Boot: Disabled
e.) CSM Support: Disabled

5.) /BIOS/Secure Boot/
a.) Secure Boot Enable: Disabled

6.) /Peripherals/USB Configuration/
a.) XHCI Hand-off: Enabled

7.) /Chipset/
a.) VT-d: Disabled (see VT-d notification in Section ASUS BIOS settings above)

  • 2 weeks later...

Does anyone here experience their connected USB devices being ejected on wake from sleep on the X299 platform?

When I wake my build from sleep, I can see in IOReg all devices that are connected have been reconnected.
