dEaK
So, my CPU in OSX86 is 20% slower than in Windows in Cinebench. I've tried different BIOSes... My CPU is Intel Xeon E5-2680v4. Please help...
Guest
try to install on both system intel power gadget and see if in multicore conditon you reach turboost on your cpu for all cores In my case Cinebench on Windows reaches 2.8 Ghz in bechmarking instead OSX cinebench r15 reaches 2.6Ghz so i have 3.250/2940 (about 10% worst on osx)
dEaK
What a huge difference in performance. I'm getting 2100/1700 (20% worst in OSX)
Guest
check cpu frequency during test..maybe you have to tweak a little your config.plist
Guest
in my case this is Windows (see packaging freq and flat line for it during benchmark) Edited April 10, 2018 by Guest osx bench added

MICKHAEL
os x don't reach turbo 3.5 but performance is still better) interesting and lower temperature also
Guest
@MICKHAEL maybe is CPU throttling in windows?

Guest
Yep cinebench does not push all cores in OS X at its Full speed
dEaK
Is there any way to enable turbo on all cores in OSX?
Guest
post IPG graphic or see by yourself if benchmarrck line is flat at your all cores frequency if not you may have need to use performance fix (kernel patch) Post your efi and your OSX detail version Edited April 10, 2018 by Guest

Guest
ok post your config.plist if you want I see you have an ES/QS cpu I think but we can try to reach same windows result using performances fix
dEaK
Thank you in advance. config.plist
Guest
if you are in 10.13.3 try this you have a weird config.plist..if it is working to boost your rig I would like to try to refine better Put also your motherboard if you want config-5.plist
dEaK
My motherboard is AsRock X99 Professional. Thank you for config.plist, I'm checking it.
Guest
ok your cpu is pretty similar to mine..and you can use a very simple config.plist..also you can use another smbios (imacpro1.1 or MacPro 6.1) see if performance is better in cinebench then we will do better 8 minutes ago, dEaK said: My motherboard is AsRock X99 Professional. Thank you for config.plist, I'm checking it. see also if IPG graphics with that patch has a flat line for CPU frequency
dEaK
Test with your config.plist. There's a progression!
Guest
too low about 5% better then previous maybe you have to tweak also some bios parameters if you want try also I will try another config with less patches..in my case with a V4 CPU I am using only to patches for kernel you should not have the need to flag that kernel things
Guest
if you want try this config and see 1) if your system boots with it 2) performance here I have used same your 15.1 smbios but you have to use other in my opinion config.plist
dEaK
Now it's a bit slower. What's interesting, when I'm starting a test CPU clocks lower ie. 2,4 Ghz, earlier it's 2,8 Ghz.
Guest
which graphicard are you using? AMD or Nvidia? model? maybe we can try a different smbios Latest test is with my latest config?
dEaK
Yes, latest test with latest config. I'm using Radeon HD7850
Guest
ok so no policy problem for you would you want try an ImacPro1.1 smbios? also are you using some weird kext like old nullcpu pm or others in clover/EFI folder?
