zam
I guess there must be more people who have been testing Aperture with the new Titan/Natit method of getting Nvidia cards to work. What are your experiences? I have been playing around with Aperture 1.5 and newest Titan and things seem to work OK. Geforce 7600GS is definetly faster than GMA950. But there is a strange lag when adjusting the image parameters. The first time I try to adjust any image parameter, the program seems to stall for a second. After that second, the adjustment continues to work almost "real-time". I did not have this "first time lag" with GMA950. I wonder if other Nvidia users have this? Or even real mac users? looper
What are your machine specs, kernel etc? I was planning on getting the 7600 GS, so I could see if I experience the same behavior. real Mac users should check this too- good idea Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/33014-aperture-with-titannatit/#findComment-234764 Share on other sites
chelhydra
Core 2 Duo @ 3.2ghz on a 965 chipset with 2GB DDR2@800mhz and 7600GT, everything is smooth and quick, no lags etc. Make sure that when you experienced the lag, aperture was not doing any background business like indexing of your photo library or something. zam
Nope, its not doing any background stuff. This second or two long jam happens every time when I open a new picture and touch some of the adjustment dials. My system is Core 2 Duo 6600 + Asrock Conroe945G-DVI + Jas 10.4.6 updated to 10.4.8 + mifki kernel + newest Titan from omni's site. looper
If you have another drive I would suggest grabbing the JAS 10.4.8 DVD torrent off of the 'noid if you haven't already and do a fresh install, then add Natit, rebuild Kextcache, fix permissions, install Aperture and see if you still have the problem. You could also try different kernels. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/33014-aperture-with-titannatit/#findComment-235574 Share on other sites
