I've been trying to have my RX460 work.

in vanilla state, it worked only in safe mode. I found some kexts, AMD95**, which have the same device id as my rx460, 0x67EF1002. so I removed 9510, 9515 and 9520, then it works without no acceleration.

so I compared High Sierra's AMD9500 with Sierra's. High Sierra's AMD9500 contains "AtiGpuWrangler" in IOKitPersonalities. and the os loads AMD9500ControllerWrangler, and does not load AMDRadeonX4*** framebuffer. on Sierra, AMDRadeonX4200 is loaded.

I think, in order to have my RX460 work, AMDRadeonX4*** need to be loaded.

so now I have a question.

what is AtiGpuWrangler? what is AMD9500ControllerWrangler?

and also, in IOKitPersonalities in AMD9500, there are 2 IOMatchCategory, IOFramebuffer in AtiGpuWrangler and ATIFramebuffer in Controller. what does this means??

hola! i'm running a kaby lake machine, uefi only, with PEG (graphics card) as primary; asus mobo with 270 chipset. anyway, i have the same issue, and the same card worked oob with 10.12 (although i had to keep iGPU enabled, but that combination won't work here). any help? maybe a hotpatch?

@bbmatias3

lilu and whatevergreen don't work on High Sierra in my case.

I use Mieze's method, http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/328549-tracing-back-the-amd-gpu-wakeup-issue-to-its-origin/. I wrote the lines on DSDT. on Sierra, my rx460 works well as oob without a helper or additional kexts.

but, on High Sierra it doesn't work, with lilu and whatevergreen, a black screen occurs, no graphics comes.

Hey, I'm using HS with a 460 (as in my sig). Everything works, only issue I have is after waking from sleep video acceleration doesn't work. However, you should be able to get more than a black screen! How is your display connected to your hackintosh, and have you tried different ports? E.g. if it's connected via HDMI try DisplayPort or DVI.

@inequals

I think missing devices after waking after sleep can be caused by DSDT or SSDT. how's your DSDT??

In my case, all port, DVI, DisplayPort, HDMI can't catch a signal.

which framebuffer does your High Sierra use??

Bro Same issue on my AMD radeon HD 7650M, no QE/CI.

Its working grt on 10.11.6 but not on 10.13.1

@SiddRamesh

Does your 7650M work like OOB on Sierra??
