  1. I'm not sure I can help with your problem, I did something simpler with my setup. My motherboard will only output video at post to the first PCI-E slot that has a graphics card in it, and that creates trouble if I want to use that card for PCI Passthough. I had to add: video=efifb:off To the /etc/default/grub file, looks like this: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet amd_iommu=on vfio_iommu_type1.allow_unsafe_interrupts=1 video=efifb:off" Shuts down video output to the post video device when grub loads the initfs. Works for me, but I'm not sure that's what you are looking for. I've never really looked into Optimus, I mean, I know basically what it is, but I'm not sure if each GPU can be used to drive it's own display, or if anyone ever tried it. If you could, I would try and drive an exteral dispaly with the GTX 1060. I assume, at post the Intel 630 is driving the LVDS dispaly. If you blacklist the kernel modules for the nVidia card, you maybe able it pass it via PCI Passthough, tho I'm not sure how to rout it to an external display. Anyway, could you tell me how you setup virtio networking? How did you created the bridge, what does your qemu-ifup script look like, and what command are you using for the network device for qemu? I tried: -netdev type=tap,script=/etc/qemu-ifup,id=net0 -device virtio-net-pci,netdev=net0 But I get errors, please, if you have time, give me a step by step of how you got it working on the host side.

    config = <file>

    Does anyone know the proper format to add NVIDIAWebDrv=Yes to the kext.plist? I tried: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>AppleRTCPatch</key> <string>Yes</string> </dict> <dict> <key>NVIDIAWebDrv</key> <string>Yes</string> </dict> </plist> That didn't work, anyone know?

    Multi Boot System MacOS Remains

    Booting the macOS from a USB drive can be fickle on old Bios based systems. I think the trouble you are having is a failure of Clover's first stage boot loader( boot0af ) to load the second stage boot loader (/boot). Some Bios based systems have trouble with Clover on a USB stick that is formated GUID, so you may want to try and format MBR. Also, you could try the other file, I think it's boot0ss, and then there is the first stage bootloader from chameleon. Both chameleon and clover load a second stage file named /boot, so if you install chameleon, then install clover, but don't install the first stage, you'll have the first stage bootloader from chameleon, and the secound stage from clover. This has worked for me in the past on Bios based systems.

    [HOW TO] Modification of AMD FB + Clover injection

    I'm having trouble with Framebuffer and Graphics acceleration. I'm able to boot with RadeonDeInit, but I have to remove the AMDRadeonX4xxx.kext's that control OpenGL/Metal, and GFX acceleration. With accretion the system is really slow, to the point you'll think it's frozen, but it's not, just takes 5 mins. before anything happens. Maybe a DMA issue with IOMMU on my mainboard. I have about the same issue when I pass a GTX1050, GUI is really slow. It may have something to do with the AMD Ryzen cpu I'm using, too. Other people don't seem to have any trouble with GPU Passthough, but they are using Intel CPU's.

    [HOW TO] Modification of AMD FB + Clover injection

    Thanks, I'll give it a try. I found that I just wan't piping the rom <. I'm having trouble with my RX card in Qemu/PCI Passthough, if I boot my system native( 10.13.0 ) My RX 580 works just fine, so long as I disable CSM in the Bios, but Qemu doesn't seem to play nice with the same card. Not sure what the issue is, no sigal from the monitor after the AMD .kext load. I found that Clover's DeInit makes the motitor come on, but I get screen corruption after login, using DeInit with Elqui FB makes everything appear right, but the system is freezing/very slow. Patching the AMD9520Controller doesn't seem to help. It maybe some sort of issue with PCI Passthough and my Asus B350-F main board, the B350 has known issues with IOMMU, but the same setup works fine with Windows 10 in Passthough, so I really can't figure the issue I'm having. Is there a way to decode how the AMD drivers are using the Framebuffer when I boot native? That may tell me what's going wrong, these are the kexts that load when I boot native: 104 3 0xffffff7f81533000 0x1da000 0x1da000 com.apple.kext.AMDSupport (1.5.8) 5170B11E-429F-3006-A0DA-D23777FCFBA9 <103 102 12 11 7 5 4 3 1>\ 105 0 0xffffff7f8172a000 0x20a000 0x20a000 com.apple.kext.AMD9500Controller (1.5.8) A4A5AF0D-4C80-34AC-B407-331CEA45A262 <104 103 102 12 11 5 4 3 1>\ 113 0 0xffffff7f8512b000 0x1de000 0x1de000 com.apple.kext.AMD9520Controller (1.5.8) B4ADD6E5-9C26-39A4-A4E3-6998C5ADC162 <104 103 102 12 11 5 4 3 1>\ 117 0 0xffffff7f8307c000 0x822000 0x822000 com.apple.kext.AMDRadeonX4200 (1.5.8) 4764D481-1C75-3AF0-AFD9-DD7688BA29D6 <116 115 102 12 7 5 4 3 1>\ 118 0 0xffffff7f84135000 0x87e000 0x87e000 com.apple.kext.AMDRadeonX4000 (1.5.8) 368DFF48-4ED5-3146-86A9-CED7F8FE70D4 <116 115 102 12 7 5 4 3 1>\ 132 0 0xffffff7f81afe000 0x82a000 0x82a000 com.apple.kext.AMDRadeonX4250 (1.5.8) F941D781-082F-365E-A403-46120841FDEF <116 115 102 12 7 5 4 3 1>\ 135 0 0xffffff7f84bf4000 0x28000 0x28000 com.apple.kext.AMDFramebuffer (1.5.8) 0726EC48-4BA2-3822-A4C9-AF0E2F284F21 <104 102 12 11 7 5 4 3 1>}

    [HOW TO] Modification of AMD FB + Clover injection

    Anyone able to get radeon_bios_decode to decode an RX 580 Vbios? Just keeps telling me no Atom bios found. https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/192233/Gigabyte.RX580.8192.170420.rom
  7. radeon_bios_decode doesn't seem to be able to decode my RX 580 Vbios. How where you able to decode the RX 560 Vbios?
  8. This should give you slirp with dhcp -netdev user,id=net0 -device e1000-82545em,netdev=net0,id=net0,mac=52:54:00:c9:18:27 \

    Clover General discussion

    Quick question @Slice, is Clover Legacy EDK I or II?
  10. I'm running HS on a Ryzen 7 1700, with a Asus B350-F mainboard. The trouble I'm having is I can't use any nVidia card in the system, what so ever. The GUI just never starts, I've tried 4 nVidia cards( GTX 1050, 9800 GT, Quadro 600, GTX 460 ), with and without my AMD RX 580, and I always get to the point where the GUI should start( login ), but it never does. Also, it seems that nv_disable=1 just gets ignored, seems like a bug in my patched kernel, maybe. I see it listed in the boot-args, but the nVidia drivers just load anyway. If I remove the NVDAResMan, the system gets to the GUI just fine. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this? I've tried Lilu and NvidiaGraphicsFixUp in the Clover kext folder, and I'm using kext injection, but nothing seems to work? I had the same type of issue with my RX 580, and finally figured out to disable CSM, and that fixed it, so my RX 580 works fine, but I just don't know what magic to get nVidia to play nice with this system?

    Clover on real mac

    @Jief_Machak, I noted you added some print() debugging to the screen.c, any chance we can get that to dump to the reifnd.log? Had a users report blackscreen on a Mac Pro with GTX 1080, and a Samsung CHG90, 3840x1080 ultra wide display, tho he didn't try it in 1080p mode yet. Just a quick look at the screen.c shows some polling for the max resolution of the display, tho this non standard res may not even be supported in nVidia's GOP. I was just wondering if I could find the point the code is breaking. Also, after rereading the thread, I noted you said you booted Clover Legacy on your Mac Pro, I always though Clover Legacy was the combination of the first stage bootloader written to block 0 of the HD that then loaded the "boot" file from the EFI or HFS partition, however it seems you were loading Clover's Bootx64.efi? I'm a little confuse by this, is there a legacy version of Clover's Bootx64 file?

    AMD Ryzen High Sierra Install Guide.

    You have to install the nVidia Web Drivers for you 1080, and set Clover to use the Web Drivers, or install the nvram scripts with Clover, so the nVidia control panel can write to "nvram". On an odd note, my B350-F motherboard won't boot OS X at all with an nVidia card installed? nv_disable=1 as a boot-arg doesn't seem to work anymore with High Sierra. I know nVidia moved nv_driver=1 from the boot-args with Sierra, so they must have moved nv_disable too. Can anyone tell me how to use it now, I keep 2 nVidia cards in my system for Visualization in Linux, and it's a real pain to have to pull them to boot the macOS?

    No Acceleration for Radeon RX460

    May not be your problem, but I had to turn off CSM in my UEFI to get my RX580 working.
