If they could just opened up hardware requirements a bit, that will be fantastic. For example, create an hardware certification group and have them test and certify certain hardware. Out side the retail osx box: Apple Universal OSX intel minimum hardware requirements: cpu list, certified mobo list, 1 gig of ram, hard disk..so on so forth. I will bet they will sell of lot more OSX and then they can collect taxes based on # of units sold from 3rd party manufactures.
