hyperblue
After installing the Safari update today, no x86 applications will run, like "Mail" or "Sherlock" or "Installer". They will only run--very slowly--when I check the Rosetta switch. Any suggestions?

Now I am re-installing whole system!
Hagar
Just a wild guess, but have you tried using Maxxuss' "Exec_10.4.2 Patch"? http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=3070
jasch
People should refrain from installing any Apple "updates" since they are obviosly not intented for OSx86 and end up breaking more things.

Yeah...as tempting as it may be to start crossing over into neverland, where it feels like a mac...looks like a mac...even feels like a mac...we must remember, these aren't macs. Yet. Installing the newest iTunes version works, though.
Guest OSx86er
OK I GOT IT!! after botching up a good OSx86 install I reloaded my OSx86.. then I had everything back to normal. I saved my old install that had been updated with Safari2.0.1, Well I was just curious even know that it could mess me up again I took the Safari.app from the updated botched up install and ran it. worked great and did not affect my mail or any other x86 apps!!! I am thrilled my Java is fine now and I have the updated Safari.app file so I am happy. Let me know if this helps. glad I didn't mess up another install.. Have fun!! miranda363
You could have copied the Safari app from the installer Archive then ran it. It goes a bit slow though but theres something I probably forgot to do
