Well community i tried 3 times actives the QE / CI with mine FX 5200, using 10.4.6 with 10.4.8 Combo Update, and nothing, i don't understand if i did some mistake or if it really not works with my GPU. I talked with Mariousz and it say me than for he, everything worked perfectly. We two tried do with that my GPU work too, then he send me your .kext files and your OpenGL.framework but i don't was able of enable QE / CI support and after everything, i cannot more start my system.

Now i'm downloading the 10.4.8 Install DVD and i'd like know if someone than have 10.4.8 and Nvidia FX 5200, was able of made it works, using Titan.kext.

Please don't ignore this topic, help me with your comments or only with your thoughts.

Well i don't know if you card will be supported (i saw that some cards aren't working). But BTW you NEED the new kernel to enable QE/CI with Titan.kext. 10.4.8 Combo update doesn't include this new kernel (but only the old one from 10.4.4 i guess), then it normal that it's not working

The 10.4.8 Install DVD include this new kernel but will work only if you have INTEL cpu (not AMD) with SSE3.

Thanks wadewa, my processor is a INTEL with SSE3 instructions, and now again my hopes are good. So with the new Kernel i only have than add the Titan.kext, into the Extensions folder, change your permissions and reboot?

It should work, but you need the latest Kernel. I've actually got an old PCI fx5200 running in a Dell with QE/CI support.

Thanks you too, user2 you really give me very more hope now, because with i said, i not had tried with new kernel and so i believe than i can get QE / CI.

Yes, as long as you don't have macvidia driver installed.

But for more information look at tutorials and feedback from this board, I rode that some ppl had to erase some kext from 10,4,8 (such as Geforce.kext...).

I'm just using titan.kext on AMD SSE2 cpu, (it's actually working better than macvidia : i can get clean fullscreen video!!!). Then i can't tell you more about installation with new kernel. For myself every thing was working perfectly following this :

  • removing macvidia
  • copying titan.kest in extension folder
  • chown cmod on titan.kext (don't forget this step repairpermisssion won't do it for you)
  • repairing permission (just in case)
  • remove extension.mkext and .kextcache
  • also removing some display preference files (i can't remember which ones, see macvidia pdf installation guide)

I don't know if it' the fastest method but it worked.

Good luck

wadewa very thanks, i don't have macvidia, for say an true, i haven't none operational system today, because the last time than i tried update my kernel, something happen wrong, and my system not starting more.

One question, the Macvidia also enable QE / CI at Nvidias?

Thanks again and i wait than i've very luck.
