Bennoo
Hello, I have been hunting through limewire forums about getting it to work on osx. Im not sure if the error i have is specific to this developer release. Has anyone got Limewire to run successfully? THanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/3217-limewire/ Share on other sites

suleiman
to tell you the truth, you won't even notice the changes here. Most of the P2P applications are so similar, the differences are negligable. You're looking at a search section, a downloads section, an uploads section, and that's about it! Technobob
Ugh... I sorta don't want an alternative. I wish somebody would just port it. I heard a simple straight-forward compile from the source on limewire.org is enough. Somebody be kind I like to have OS X's software as close to Windows's as possible. It saves the hastle of having to get used to new interfaces, menus, etc... As a Limewire Pro user for the last 6 months or so, I can say the switch to using Aqulite was painless. If you think that programs are going to be the same as they are in windows, good luck in that dream. Even some programs that are writen for both platforms don't look the same. As for porting Limewire over they have tried but it has not been a success yet from what I know. Why not try Aqulite for now until Limewire is ported, it's better to have something then nothing. aditseng
try mlMac. It works on mlDonkey which allows you to connect to edonkey (emule), overnet, limewire, gnutella and more. But you'll need to re-compile the mldonkey server (it's easy). Or you can try edonkey2000. Works out of the box on osx86 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/3217-limewire/#findComment-20967 Share on other sites

Careless
i downloaded limewire pro and installed it on my 8F1111g install, and it froze on the first portion of the progress bar, when that little bit of progress is showing. after that, no progarms would install. they all stopped working at that particular point. it didnt matter what program it was. it was as if the installer had been defunct! so im going to try this Aquilite Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/3217-limewire/#findComment-47067 Share on other sites
Mactelman
Before you do any more. Download limewire now. 4.10.5 is now out, and is a universal binary. Testing and working. Templeton Peck
I used to use LimeWire. After building my Hacintosh, I started to look for a temporary alternative to tide me over until LimeWire went unibin. That alternative was Poisoned - OMG, this has got to be the best P2P app ever, for any platform! It's a frontend for the GiFT Daemon, and connects to all the popular networks, including Fast Track and Gnutella, sans the spyware and adware. I {censored}-canned LimeWire on my Mac mini too.
