iMäcen Posted November 5, 2006 Share Posted November 5, 2006 I had a ASUS A8N-VM with nForce 410. Sound (SoundMax ADI AD1980) worked (2 channels) with Azalia kext . IDE worked, but not SATA (not recognized). Didn't try ethernet. This mobo didn't have the possibility to change the multiplier, so I was stuck at 10x200. Therefore I replaced it with my A8N5X nForce 4 motherboard instead. I edited the info.plist in viaata.kext to see my nforce 410 SATA (deviceID 0266/10de) and my 3 NTFS partitions are seen in OS X but I can't copy large files from NTFS to HFS+ partition (on PATA) Anyway, I never had issues with PATA drive with no hacking. Ethernet does not work, even when I edit the forcedeth info.plist with the correct DevID... I don't know if that's a reasonable value for PATA but disk access seems to be slower than under windows. If you experience slow PATA disks, try adding bikedudes AppleNForceATA.kext. https://developer.berlios.de/project/showfiles.php?group_id=7950&release_id=12127 It increased my xbench tests scores to levels 10x what they were. I was unable to capture video in .dv format and traced it to my poor disk performance. Now I can capture without dropping a frame. No luck with the onboard lan, and every nvidia driver I can find causes a kernel panic no matter what I try... If anyone has gotten qe/ci with an onboard nvidia graphics chip, I'd love to know how!!
