llamafilm
I have a stable system, running OS 10.10.5, hardware is listed in my signature. When I swap the Titan Black for a 980 TI, I can't boot. It hangs at "PCI configuration begin". Nothing has changed except the video card. The 980 works fine in Windows. Is there some configuration I would have to change between these two cards? I'm using Nvidia web driver 346.02.03.f09. Allan
Are you injected it correctly? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/319170-cant-boot-with-980ti/#findComment-2333139 Share on other sites
llamafilm
Are you talking about the Inject Nvidia clover option? I've never needed that with the Titan. Tried it just now, no luck. I found the problem. I was previously using a DSDT edit to rename H000 to GFX1 in order to fix the black screen with Mac Pro 6,1 SMBIOS. This DSDT is not compatible with the different GPU. So I deleted it and booted with the black screen, then connect with screen sharing and re-do the DSDT. llamafilm
My system boots every time now, but it's unpredictable which GPU will be used as the primary display. It seems to switch back and forth with every reboot, so I have to reconnect my monitor every time. Is there a way to make it always use the same GPU for display output? In the BIOS, I have primary display set to PCI x16 slot 1.
