ltpitt
Hi all!My Hackintosh (GA-P55-UD5 - Non UEFI) has been working as a dream for many months.TToday electricity was disconnected for a short time from my house and computer was not properly shut down. After this I tried to boot normally but Chameleon is not even starting, all I get is the beginning of ascii animation with loading (the rotating | ) then it gets stuck and I cannot do anything.I have a sata - USB adapter and I would like to ask a friend to bring his Mac over and try a scandisk with Disk Utility on my not booting HDD.Am I doing the right thing?I have many Video in iMovie that I care about and that is why I wanted to double check with experts before doing anything silly. Thanks for your time and patience, your help is much appreciated. ltpitt
I am currently struggling...Is it mandatory to have a Mac OS X retail image to build a bootable usb?I cannot download anymore Mavericks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/317098-mavericks-not-booting-after-improper-shutdown/#findComment-2304492 Share on other sites
ltpitt
I have finally installed Mac Os X into VmWare and reinstalled Chimera for Mavericks.I had a full backup of my Extras folder so I thought this was an easy fix.I rebooted and now I always get a "Error: cannot find SMBios" error. After 5 minutes the computer boots successfully but it seems like it is not reading my Extras folder: what is wrong?I already tried repairing permissions from Disk Utility with no success. 0000-1248
Try making a new SMBIOS that is closer to your computer specs.
