Hello everyone,

I m pretty new on this website but also on CustoMac, but I did follow all the guides around and I manage to install my system from scratch running Sierra, here is my spec:

MSI Z170A Tomahawk AC
I5 6600k
GTX 980
Hyper Predator SSD disk
8 GB Ram

everything works so far, and the Alternate Graphics driver make the Sierra experience very smooth and nice, the only problem is happening if I run any kind of Acceleration Graphics it look like corrupted in certain case and it look ok in other.

I attached some Screenshots of a game (wow vanilla very old) and the GLX viewer for test.

any Idea what it could be ? something I did wrong ?

For more stability, I recommend use El Capitan 10.11.5

Look: Making a 10.10/10.11 USB Installer /w Clover (UEFI and Legacy) the correct way!

For download El Capitan via App Store is not possible, only if you have downloaded it in the past.

You can search for some links, but be careful, maybe some .dmgs are infected.

EDIT: Hey @Uranis.n3, how did you made the Graphics injection?

ok thanks I will look at that !

for the injection I just followed a guide on TonyMacX86 it was about downloading the WebNvidia installer from the Nvidia it self, then run and modify the Config.plist by adding the driver under "SystemParamaters" and then restart, after, because the system wasn't restart properly (monitor goes black), I used a script as showed on a forum regarding this kind  of problem based on my SMBios iMac (17)

is this correct ?

I also tried an older SMBios but they provide the same issues more or less :(

hehehe well I just followed the guides around, its honestly my first time with a custom MAC :D before I had the original one.

so yes Have just a GTX 980 and why I did inject the Intel no idea :D maybe just errors, I will try now your config and I will let you know.

ok so:

this config.plist give me the same issue like the first time after installing the Nvidia drivers, the system it's boot up and then at last moment the screen goes on "no Signal" but the keyboard works and it look ready, its the monitor that is off or at least it look like :D

now to boot up again I had to disable this driver with Nvidia to VESA flag.

Last time I had this issue I just run a method I found on tonyMacX86 and it worked, but with the error I showed you before.

Off Topic answer: yes the Audio work brought HDMI to my screen, then I have the speakers attacced to it.

In the config.plist that I'd sent to you, add the "nvda_drv=1" boot arg

How you did that? You use one of @toleda methods?

same, with nvda_drv=1 it simply goes black and no signal. :( and all the method on the guides around are useless I dunno if I mistake something or not :S

yes the Toleda methods work, but there are too many files on the Git so I lucky found mine by using IORegistry Explorer and under the section HDMI audio I found the same code as the download and it worked.

my was the attached one (PEGO)

again I m a complete noob so I m not even sure it worked for this reasons or I was just lucky XD.

anyway thanks for now about all this help, maybe tomorrow I will try to look for Elcapitan some where !

No problem. Maybe the Clover devs will made more modifications in this new method.

Nice! Congrats!

I asked you this 'cause I have a GTX 980 too, but without HDMI audio.   :(

And the funny thing is that I have the same address in IOReg too   :surprised:

Hey

so I did reinstall everything from scratch and now everything works !! I mean ok maybe the graphics still acting a bit oddly, but just few times like 1% of the time, I' m not sure about performance yet, I m downloading some game to test :D

so here what I did: (my card its a GainWard GTX 980)

1) installation as classic

2) installation of Nvidia drivers

3) configuration of DDST as from this Guide

4) Run the script from this Guide

5) at this point the Video was working good so I applied the Toleda method.

and my Mac works great now, I. don't know if was just lucky :D but at least I can use it properly now.

Good luck.

sorry I didn't read the rules of this website, I hope I didn't do anything wrong by putting some links from other website, if I did please feel free to edit or delete my post.

NP bro!  ;)

We don't give support for Tonymac tools, but what you post is a study about Hackintosh.
As I can see in both topics, there's not recommendations to use Tonymac tools.
