odedia
Hi, Does anyone know if it is possible to easily overclock the CPU in the new 24" iMac? I ordered the 2.16GHZ, but I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be technically problematic to overclock the thing to 2.33Ghz or even a little more. There's alot of room in the 24" iMac, so heat shouldn't be that big of a problem. I'm sure Apple uses the same cooling for both types of processors. I understand from a guy who works at Intel that both processors are manufactured in the same product line, it shouldn't really matter.

You should be able to overclock it in windows using software but it's not only the cpu, by raising the FSB your mem should be able to handle the speed. If it wasn't an iMac you could hit 3200mhz or more with that cpu.
bofors
Umm... I believe that the only to overclock any kind of Mac would be to physically modify it.
