  1. Asus AT3N7A-I ajuda pessoal!

Sounds excellent, thanks! Would love to have those kexts if you can find them, it would really help me out.
  2. Asus AT3N7A-I ajuda pessoal!

Your English is fine, thanks for the prompt reply. So I understand that EVERYTHING worked? Did you try running something like Plex with graphics acceleration h.264 enabled? If yes, how did it work out? I would really appreciate the kext files if possible. Should I install these using Chameleon or some other program? I tried to get many boot managers to work off the USB port but they all failed. I guess I'll have to arrange a DVD drive. What issues did you have with the USB sticks? Did you try booting the OS from USB or from the hard drive? If I understand correctly, you suggest that once I have a working copy of Snow Leopard and before I run Chameleon, I should backup my partition for trial and error. But how can I do this with Carbon Copy Cloner if I am actually running from that partition? Will it allow me to make a block-level copy of the currently running OS partition? Thanks again, you guys are great.
  3. Asus AT3N7A-I ajuda pessoal!

Sorry to barge in on this discussion (and in English of all things, thank god for Google Translate ). This is the best discussion I've found on the net for getting OS X on this board. Am I to understand that you've given up on it? Did it not work eventually? Should I even bother trying to get it working? I bought this machine to serve as a NAS(Thanks to 4 SATA ports)+Media Center combo. Mac OS X seems like the best choice since it supports ZFS quite well with maczfs, and Plex is the best thing since sliced bread... I would hate to revert to Ubuntu + Freenas, but it'll have to do if I must. Thanks!

  5. Zaap, is the Geforce GTX 285 better than the new GTX 400 series that is now available? It's hard to understand from NVidia's website. Or maybe just get a new ATI 5870 HD 2GB GPU (Supports 6 monitors!!!) which should match what Apple is offering with the new mac pros? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...5-322-_-Product Nice setup, thanks
  6. Ok, so a little fun game for us all: If money was not an issue, what would be your dream hackintosh setup? requirements would have to be 100% compatibility and stability, and also it will have to run fairly quiet - not dead silent, but reasonable. So, what would you choose as your Mobo, CPU, GPU, Case, RAM, SSD/HD and even the display?
  7. Can it play HD Xvid?

Yes, with a bit of hacking. Basically, you take out the HD, add the Perian component to the quicktime, then put the thing back in. It worked for a few.
  8. What have you learned?

I noticed that when using fast user switching, you no longer have that cube rotating effect. I only get a fade-to-black effect. Could this be one of those "hidden features"? I doube they'll change such a cool feature to something so lame for no reason. Also, I found a serious bug: When returning to the first account, I had the other account's applications in my dock!
  9. What have you learned?

Setting up a fax machine to be your bluetooth-enabled cell phone is VERY easy now. It used to be incredibly hard on Tiger, having to hunt down the driver somewhere in the file system - and for me, it still didn't work at all. Now in leopard, it's just there in the Fax dialog settings. And I can actually see my cellphone trying to dial, although I couldn't send a fax but I think that's because the network doesn't support it.
  10. What have you learned?

Sadly, this is NOT the case with Hebrew. Although Arabic and Hebrew are both right-to-left langauges, Hebrew is NOT supported (non of the menus is translated), and things start to get messed up once Hebrew is the leading language. For example: spotlight can't find anything! I type "d" and get ONE result! This is really a shame. It's so easy to implement once Arabic is there.
  11. Hi, Does anyone know if it is possible to easily overclock the CPU in the new 24" iMac? I ordered the 2.16GHZ, but I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be technically problematic to overclock the thing to 2.33Ghz or even a little more. There's alot of room in the 24" iMac, so heat shouldn't be that big of a problem. I'm sure Apple uses the same cooling for both types of processors. I understand from a guy who works at Intel that both processors are manufactured in the same product line, it shouldn't really matter.
  12. Inside the 24 inch iMac

RAM is a piece of cake. There's even a short guide on apple's site on how to do it. 2 screwed and you have the RAM door avaliable.
  13. Inside the 24 inch iMac

Accodrding to this article: http://www.hothardware.com/viewarticle.aspx?articleid=883 the new Geforce 7950 GTX MXM card is mac compatible.
  14. Inside the 24 inch iMac

Yeah, i'm wondering that myself... I just ordered a near-maxed-out 24" iMac, and I would love to know if the screen will be usable in the future, and if the graphics card is replacable for the 7900 or other cards in the future. Thanks!
  15. Apple Addresses MacBookPro Issues

Latest update from macrumors.com: Update:: It appears the two digit number that is described simply refers to the week of production and not distinct revisions. While fixes may have been incorporated, the # does not appear to distinguish revisions. Oded S.
