I am using the latest Clover Bootloader. I made this CustoMac to do some graphic works but it only gets recognizes 7mb. I will list up what i did and make what to boot up. 1. If i use 290X Fake ID(0x067B01002) it doesn't boot up.(** GPU Hardware VM is enabled (multispace: enabled, page table updates with DMA: enabled) I have to type 0x67B11002 to boot up. (I added 0x67B11002 to AMD8000Controller.Kext & AMDRadeonX4000.Kext) 2. If i uncheck inject ATI it doesn't boot. 3. I need this part in config.plist to boot up. if this doesn't exit bluetooth transport error comes up. <key>KextsToPatch</key> <array> <dict> <key>Comment</key> <string>Raise 15 port limit to 30 in AppleUSBXHCIPCI</string> <key>Disabled</key> <false/> <key>Find</key> <data> g72M/v//EA== </data> <key>Name</key> <string>AppleUSBXHCIPCI</string> <key>Replace</key> <data> g72M/v//Hw== </data> </dict> <dict> <key>Comment</key> <string>External icons patch</string> <key>Disabled</key> <false/> <key>Find</key> <data> RXh0ZXJuYWw= </data> <key>Name</key> <string>AppleAHCIPort</string> <key>Replace</key> <data> SW50ZXJuYWw= </data> </dict> </array> </dict> 4. Checked bootlog. It sets my VRAM to 4096mb. But inside mac it says 7mb and has a hole lot of lags. 3:899 0:000 Set VRAM from config=4096Mb 3:899 0:000 ATI: get_vram_size returned 0x0 :900 0:000 ATI Radeon EVERGREEN family3:900 0:000 Users config name Baladi3:900 0:000 use N ports setting from config.plist: 43:900 0:000 (AtiPorts) Nr of ports set to: 43:900 0:000 ATI Hawaii AMD Radeon R9 290X 4096MB (Baladi) [1002:67B0] (subsys [174B:E285]):: PciRoot(0x0)\Pci(0x1,0x0)\Pci(0x0,0x0) 5. I tried Every ATI Controller settings in the forum and tonymacx86 forum but it doesn't work to me 6. I have dual monitor (27" alphascan & 24" Yamakasi) but it only recognizes as 30.5" inch 1 monitor 7. AMD Radeon GPU injector doesn't work. 8. In DPCI Manager My graphic says ' Framebuffer = .Display_boot ' I tried Hawaii, Exmoor, Radeon, Baladi, AMD, Tahiti ... 9. In PCI List My graphic says ' 1002, 67B1, 174B, E285, Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI], Hawaii PRO ' Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/314955-290x-vram-7mb-problem-el-capitan-dual-monitor/ Share on other sites
Matthew82
290x is nativly support. Don't do nothing. Delete fake id and delete injection i GPU clover section. Just insert GPU to slot and boot system. That was all i could do. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/314955-290x-vram-7mb-problem-el-capitan-dual-monitor/#findComment-2274477 Share on other sites

al6042
I would rather switch the port on the GPU to connect the monitor, since the gray screen and the wallpaper shows that the card seems to work, but the port might be identified as secondary. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/314955-290x-vram-7mb-problem-el-capitan-dual-monitor/#findComment-2274613 Share on other sites
rhals000327
Reinstall system and try again. I reele dont know what is wrong. I have this GPU and evryfing is working without any changes in config and kext. I got things more worse with reinstalling.. now only one monitor comes up and boot. I would rather switch the port on the GPU to connect the monitor, since the gray screen and the wallpaper shows that the card seems to work, but the port might be identified as secondary. I tested everyport that I could try. and tested every combination. And I found out that when I enter nothing in graphics. the gray screen and wallpaper come out because it detects the VRAM as 2.5mb Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/314955-290x-vram-7mb-problem-el-capitan-dual-monitor/#findComment-2274646 Share on other sites

rhals000327
multi-monitor on 290X requires framebuffer patch, it works natively without injection with 1 monitor But the problem is none of the frame buffer patch worked to me. I made one with my settings but that didn't work either.
