For the last few days, I've been trying to install OS X on  a seperate hard drive. I already have Windows installed and i thought that i could just install OS X on a new hard drive and choose which I would use every time I booted up. But for some reason, when I choose OS X from usb in Clover, the apple logo shows up and so does the bar line, but it doesn't progress from there. after doing some research, I booted it in verbose mode to find out what caused the problem. I thought it might've been a kext, but I can't see any kext causing any problems.

I'll post my specs beneath:

Motherboard: ASUS MAXIMUS VIII RANGER

CPU: Intel i7 6700K Skylake Quad Core

GPU: MSI GTX 980 6GB

Power supply: Corsair CX750 - 750W

RAM: HyperX Fury 16GB 2400MHz DDR4

Screen: I dunno. Using DVI.

Things that might've caused the problem:

I use a seperate audio card. I think it's called Xonar something.

I didn't unplug the other hard drives.

I made the Bootable USB on a vmWare system

There wasn't any way to turn off safe boot in the BIOS ( I've turned off fast boot and switched from Windows UEFI mode to other OS btw (There wasn't any vt-d option))

The hard drive i'm going to install OS X on is a HDD, but that shouldn't be causing any probs yet, should it?

If you know what's wrong, please leave a reply. Thx

Hi,

First of all try to remake the USB with this guide

Upload the EFI and then we can help you from there.

If you feel like doing everything yourself, read about clover and how to make config.plist, about drivers, kexts etc.

:)

Dwarfy

Upload the EFI? not sure what EFI means, but if u mean the folder on my USB - should I zip it and upload it in this forum topic?

Oh and I did everything until Step 5 - configuring the config.plist

That's fine, just upload the EFI folder. Put it in another folder and zip it.

Thanks, a second and I'll modify your EFI.

Here you go. Replace the other EFI you got in your USB with this one.

Also if you come to the chat, it will be easier to help you. :)

Ok, I‘ll be going on chat while i restart the pc. Thx for all the help though

Yes you do - you probably miss FakeSMC.kext from your log.

Our friend added it for you.
