Hi there!

So I got a OSX install USB. I boot from it, Clover shows. In there are options to boot from Windows or the install usb. I boot from the install usb. After a minute or two of the apple logo with the spinning circle I come back to clover. I try the install USB again, it comes back to clover again.

What should I try?

By the way I'm following this guide: http://cloverboot.weebly.com/install-osx.html

And where it shows the apple logo screen, it comes back to the clover screen after a minute or so.

Thank you so much!!

Hello, and welcome to InsanelyMac!

Boot with -v (verbose mode), if the boot stops, take a photo and post here.

You have configured your UEFI/BIOS? What boot-args did you use?

Thanks for getting back!

When booting from clover the boot args are -v npci=0x2000 (I didn't play with those).

When booting from Chameleon it get stuck on [iOBluetoothHCIController][start] --completed

Looking around on Bing seems to turn up graphics issues. However this persists even when I try the boot flag GraphicsEnabler=No.

When I'll get a next chance I'll try disconnecting the Nvidia 960 and boot using the Intel HD graphics.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks! I installed osx using your advice with no problems.

However now when I try to boot from the partition I installed osx on, I get : [ IOBluetoothHCIController][searchForTransportEventTimeOutHandler] -- Missing Bluetooth Controller Transport!

So looks like I am 1 kink away from enjoying both the goodness of Windows and Mac together

Unfortunately even when booting with the -v nv_disable=1 flags I get the same error... Reinstalling now

Strange that your method worked to reach the installer but doesn't work to actually boot osx

Everything I've tried failed too.

Anything else to try?

Once again thank you

Is not necessary reinstall your OS X, we just need figure out how we can boot your OS X with different ways.  ^_^

Try boot without cache.

I've built an Hack with a similar hardware, look if this steps can help you: [success] Asus Z97 Deluxe + Yosemite 10.10.5

I finally got it to boot!!

I used -x NV_disable=1 and it works

Now I need 2 things: Get the GPU working and the WiFi card to work

2: be able to boot without safe mode, as if I try booting without -x I get the Bluetooth error again

Thank you so much!

So I booted into Windows and downloaded some stuff on a USB flash so I could install on the Mac, but Mac doesn't read NTFS :(

I guess I can't download things onto the Mac from Windows so how can I get the kexts and drivers?

Thanks again

That worked, I got the .zip files to copy.

Is there any way to get the WiFi card to work? I can't download the Nvidia GTX 960 drivers without it (and using a Mac without internet is pretty pointless). It is an Asus PCE-N15 and I can't find drivers for it... the OSX just isn't recognizing that it is there, even though it is working on Windows 10. Any ideas?

Thanks for getting my hackintosh to boot (with -x nv_disable flags only). I couldn't have done it without your help. When the internet works it will be complete :)

I've did some searches in our Forum and others, but these card is not to easy to enable it. 'Cause don't exist an especific method for it.

Maybe you can use a USB dongle until you buy another compatible card.

I see. Actually I can tether an Android device to the PC and get internet that way. Works on Windows 10, but hackintosh doesn't see that I plugged in my tablet. Tried turning on USB debugging too, no luck :(

This is getting a lot harder than I expected...

You can use any USB stick in OS X? If yes, you can download Nvidia Web Drivers in Windows, and copy/install in OS X.

If you want read/write files in Windows via OS X, and dispense USB sticks, you can install Paragon NTFS for Mac:)

I can read USB sticks that are formatted in HFS. Might matter that I'm using mountain lion so perhaps the age is a factor?

I'll check out the paragon NTFS.

Also worth noting that the Android File Transfer software can read and copy files from my tablet (Android.com/file transfer) but Mac can't... So looks like it isn't a hardware issue but osx issue

Well I'll try to get my hands on a newer version of osx since Nvidia doesn't even have drivers for my card for 10.8

Also I can install osx on a VM in Win10 and install via ##### method, that seems to be the best way

If only I had more time to waste on this lol

Well now I'm trying to get niresh YOSEMITE to work but I keep getting the PC completely frozen on the install screen. Can't even move the mouse :(

Looking online shows that freezing while installing is pretty rare. Could this be because I'm using a 8GB partition to put osx on?

Using a 8 GB for install a entire OS X is very small size huh?

And OS X 10.8 for the kind of this hardware, you'll have a lot of problems, power management will not work properly.

I recommend use Yosemite or El Capitan. OS X Yosemite is most stable than El Cap (IMHO).

Don't use Distros, use a Vanilla way. The Forum Olarila can give to you a bootable image (free and 100% vanilla) of Yosemite.

Wow, olarila USB got me to the El Capitan installer after I set up the BIOS to use the Intel HD to power my monitor and not the Nvidia. Later this can be fixed with some drivers I'm sure.

However when I try to install I get a GUID partition error. Looking online I found the thread saying I need this patch.

How do I go about installing a patch?

For some reason I can't paste links into this box :(

www.osx86.net/files/file/4257-yosemite-mbr-patch/

Thank you so much

That doesn't show how to install osx, it shows just how to install clover. Clover already comes with the olarila file. It comes with chameleon too. Clover is default and chameleon comes on if you spam 1 on startup. However I've been running the USB in Legacy and not UEFI mode.

I got el Capitan to start installing, but it is painfully slowly installing because the console is spammer with errors (see picture). Once it got 1/2 way done then said "Debugger not configured. Having" and froze while installing. Trying again with safer boot flags this time :(

Also the olarila doesn't seem to have enough seeders online to torrent the Yosemite file :(

If this install fails I'll try to load the USB in uefi mode.

Also I'm installing osx onto a 32GB flash drive this time.

Finally el Capitan installed, went to boot and...damn!

Either I get the system uptime in nanoseconds or dreaded Bluetooth errors, even though I'm using the Intel HD to power the monitor and using correct boot flags.
