Glaedr
Hello, I need to install Windows 10 on my GPT partitioned disk, which I currently boot into using my BIOS only mobo. Thing is, Windows installer will complain if I try to install it on a GPT disk from a BIOS booted install disk, so I was wondering if there was any trick to boot the Windows installer through Clover, thus tricking it into thinking it's being booted from a UEFI system. I tried having OS X on a MBR disk but it made partitioning and managing too messy. Also, is Hybrid MBR an option or would it complicate things as well? Thanks. Glaedr
I already have a Mac system installed and some data in the HDD so creating a new partition table like the guide says is not an option. So should I just convert GPT to Hybrid, install, overwrite the Windows boot loader in the MBR with clover and use it to boot into Windows? Glaedr
I know but I meant is there no way to install Windows on GPT booting it through clover to trick it into thinking it's being booted in an EFI system? fusion71au
@Glaedr, Create an installer following the guide below and install Windows in UEFI mode by booting through legacy Clover... [Guide] Dual-boot with Windows 10 and Clover - Legacy or UEFI Notes Leave unformatted free space on the disk for Windows instead of creating a FAT partition with Disk Utility (since DU will convert the disk to hybrid mbr/GPT instead of leaving it as pure GPT with protective mbr). If you have a hybrid mbr/GPT, you can convert back to pure GPT by using GDisk -see post#359 If you already have Clover installed on your hard disk, you don't have to install Clover on the Windows installer (just boot to bootmgfw.efi through Clover on the hard disk). Good Luck! Glaedr
Solved with the USB maker from MS, I had to boot into it using the EFI console in Clover but other than that it worked just fine. Let me know if you need detailed procedure. Also thanks.
