lemmyc
I'm running 10.11.2 and suddenly I'm getting a lot of random reboots. I'm not seeing any panic reports in logs. Any suggestions on where to look for log information to try to get more info? I'm looking in Console, in system logs and under Diagnostic Reports. spakk
Without information it is not possible to find the cause of the problem, upload the diagnostic reports possibly someone has the time to find the cause of the problem in the last reports. These possible causes, you should check. check the BIOS settings ...CPU overclocking can be a Cause? RAM (Memory) defective ? can be a cause, but a Panic message should be appear. Graphics card can be a Cause .?.... false boot parameter, DSDT ... etc Edited February 19, 2016 by spakk Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/310983-random-reboots-nothing-in-logs/#findComment-2216629 Share on other sites
AppleIIGuy
My system was having random reboots and no logs recently i then ran a memory test. I found a bad stick of ram. I used Memtest86 It can be booted from UEFI or Legacy Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/310983-random-reboots-nothing-in-logs/#findComment-2216785 Share on other sites
lemmyc
Thanks guys. I probably have to get to grips with the mysteries of DSDT. I will try to do some hardware tests too.
