  1. Thanks guys. I probably have to get to grips with the mysteries of DSDT. I will try to do some hardware tests too.
  2. I'm running 10.11.2 and suddenly I'm getting a lot of random reboots. I'm not seeing any panic reports in logs. Any suggestions on where to look for log information to try to get more info? I'm looking in Console, in system logs and under Diagnostic Reports.
  3. AppleRTC Patch Problem .

I have a similar setup to you and I'm having CMOS resets when El Capitan sleeps. Would you mind sharing your config.plist and clarifying which DSDT file you're using? My BIOS is v13 so I guess I would need d00d's v6 DSDT.aml
  4. Thanks for that. I've got your DSDT and switched to SMBIOS MacPro 5.1 I seem to be making some progress. I updated the FakeSMC and NullCPUPowerManagement kexts in my USB Chameleon, and when I boot to the desktop I'm not getting constant crashes any more. I managed to install the most recent Clover without error. Now I think I just need to tweak the config.plist and DSDT to get past this boot error. Unfortunately my CMOS is being reset on every reboot also. EDIT. Working now. Either because I correctly referenced the DSDT from Clover this time, or enabled Fix Firewire. I am not about to change anything now to find out which did it.
  5. Not getting anywhere with this. I followed these instructions: http://osxarena.com/2015/10/guide-install-el-capitan-on-hackintosh-pc-with-chameleon-bootloader-vanilla-installation-method/ I can boot to El Capitan using my Enoch USB installer. The desktop now consistently crashes after a few minutes. I can run the Enoch USB installer (to make drive bootable) in spite of a warning about 'package not compatible with this version of os x'. But if I reboot to the hard disk, I get the clover bootloader and the same error as before in AppleUSBUHCIPCI. If I try to run the Clover installer from the desktop, I get the 'not compatible' error message and the installation fails. I have the CsrActiveConfig key set to 103 in my chameleon plist and my clover plist. (I think this gives more permissions than 3) Currently have SMBios in Clover set to Imac 14,2 Any ideas what my next step should be?
  6. Mr. Graphic - which version? I tried 13.1 and had the same problem. I'm at an interesting place now. I used Chameleon Enoch to upgrade to El Capitan. Now, if I try to install Clover, I get the error in the installer which I think shows that SIP is enabled - 'this package is not compatible with this version of os x' and installation fails. The only way I can boot now is via my USB Enoch installer, so how can I get into Recovery Mode to disable SIP?
  7. I finally got round to trying this. I created a usb installer. I boot using that and it takes me to the the Clover boot screen. At this point if I try to boot from the usb installer I get the same panic in AppleUSBUHCIPCI.kext So after trying various clover config options I tried to remove that kext from the USB installer. It was inside IOUSBHostFamily.kext. I removed it. Same problem. I removed its parent kext, same problem. I tried booting without caches, using space bar, and i tried blocking those kexts using Clover boot options - same problem. Where am I going wrong? Also, is it possible to access the install volume created by the El Capitan installer and edit the kexts there?
  8. Thanks for that. I will try booting from USB when I get a chance and see if your method works for me.
  9. Hi, I have the latest Clover, and the RtVariables set appropriately. The only kext I have in kexts/10.11 is FakeSMC.kext After the installer reboots and I select the Install OS X option, the installation always fails after an error in AppleUSBUHCIPCI. The motherboard is a Gigabyte EX58-UD5. Any suggestions? Thanks.
  10. Hi, I have Yosemite running well with Clover bootloader. Clover is installed in an EFI partition. I see my Windows OS at the Clover start screen, but none of the Windows options boot into the Windows 8 OS. I get a black screen or a logo which just sits there. Windows 8 boots fine if I change the device boot order in bios. Looking at other posts, I'm guessing that this is because Windows is not installed in UEFI mode. I don't know enough about this to know if it is fixable in my case. The motherboard is quite old - see my sig. How should I go about enabling Windows booting with Clover? Here's the output from diskutil list: /dev/disk0 #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER 0: FDisk_partition_scheme *500.1 GB disk0 1: Windows_NTFS Untitled 500.1 GB disk0s1 /dev/disk1 #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER 0: GUID_partition_scheme *512.1 GB disk1 1: EFI EFI 209.7 MB disk1s1 2: Apple_HFS MacOS 511.3 GB disk1s2 3: Apple_Boot Recovery HD 650.0 MB disk1s3 /dev/disk2 #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER 0: FDisk_partition_scheme *1.0 TB disk2 1: Windows_NTFS Media 1.0 TB disk2s1 /dev/disk3 #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER 0: GUID_partition_scheme *500.1 GB disk3 1: EFI EFI 209.7 MB disk3s1 2: Apple_HFS MacBackup 499.8 GB disk3s2 disk0 is Windows 8, disk1 is Yosemite. I have also attached my Clover config.plist Many thanks for advice.
  11. Yes, I had a modified IONetworkFamily in Clover's kext folder originally- it had a Realtek plugin inside. I removed it from there and S/L/E, then realised it is an essential kext - so I took the IONetworkFamily kext from a vanilla Yosemite install on a real Mac and put it into my S/L/E folder, rebuilding caches, etc. In Clover kexts I have FakeSMC, Realtek kext and NullCPU kext. I tried removing the NullCPU kext, but then the OS didn't load - the progress bar didn't move at all in the first load phase. Perhaps that kext is causing the problem? I will do some more experiments with Clover settings then if I don't have a fix I will take a look at jl4c's DSDT.aml
  12. All seems good now. No sudden shutdown after restarting from sleep. After changing the config.plist I did have a problem with shutting down. The computer would restart instead of shutting down properly. I seem to have fixed that by changing a couple of things - one was unchecking Fix Ownership in USB section. The other was setting Inject Kexts to Yes. I don't know which of these was relevant. Attached is my good config.plist for anyone with a similar system. Thanks to VirusX as my original config was quite different. You have saved me a lot of trial and error. Spoke too soon, restart problem when shutting down is back. No more random shutdowns, but problems shutting down cleanly. config.plist.zip
  13. Thanks both. I have cleaned out some old kexts which are no longer relevant, put a standard OS X IONetworkFamily kext in S/L/E, added Mieze's Realtek kext into the Clover kexts folder and reset permissions and cache. I am going to try without a DSDT.aml in the first place as I think keeping it simple is good - VirusX, I've adapted your config.plist - I'll see how I get on with that first of all. When I got rid of my DSDT.aml just now, sleep resulted in shutdown, CMOS wipe and reboot loop. Already with the new config.plist that is fixed - just need to see now if the shutdowns still happen after 10 minutes.
  14. As per the title, I have Yosemite running well, using Clover as a bootloader, but while the computer seems to wake from sleep OK, there is a problem, as it will abruptly shut down 5 - 10 minutes later. I haven't had these shutdowns except after waking from sleep. Attached is my Clover config.plist I am using an off-the-shelf DSDT.aml which I found for my motherboard, but which I guess may not be 100% right for my components. I've attached that too. Any suggestions on settings to tweak, or where to start looking for clues? config.plist.zip DSDT.aml.zip
