Install Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan On Dell Inspiron n5110

Hello everyone,

I Need a clear Guide to install Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan On Dell Inspiron n5110 with the following aspects:

 

Intel® Core i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30 GHz 2.30 GHz

Ram : 6 GB
nVidia GeForce GT 525M

 

I prefer to use chameleon not clover

how to create an USB Installer, there are many tutorials here on insaneleymac.com moreover you can also use the tool of chris1111, which installs the complete installation of El capitan.app, the bootloader and the necessary boot drivers.

 

If you do not want to use clover bootloader, then only remains Enoch bootloader as a good alternative, all tool see above under download.

the tool of chris1111 are available with Clover and with Enoch bootloader. (These tools can be found under developer bootloader page)

Hi,

1/ Flash BIOS with UEFI unlocking bios (See the first post of Khairy)

2/ Preparation of installed USB

2a/ Obtain a 16 GB Pendrive (for me 8GB was not enough)

2b/ Download El Capitan installed image 

2c/ Download Pre-Installed package (http://www.mediafire...Pre Install.zip) and post-installedpackage http://www.mediafire.com/download/756jbf9n7o6ln3k/EFI-Kenjiloc.zip

2d/ Download clover from http://sourceforge.n.../cloverefiboot/and you may download a clover configuration utility from http://mackie100proj...ltervista.org/ 

2e/ Partition of pendrive using disk utility. You should use MBR.  The partition name may be "Installer"

2f/ mount El Capitan install image and rename to Source

2g/ sudo ~/Desktop/Source.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Installer --applicationpath ~/Desktop/Source.app --nointeraction

2h/ copy the EFI folder from Pre-Installed package to pendrive

2i/ install clover to pendrive

2j/ copy the DSDT.aml and SSDT-4.aml from Pre-Installed package to pendrive/EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched folder

2k/ copy the config.plist  from Pre-Installed package to pendrive/EFI/CLOVER

2l/ copy all kexts in pendrive/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.10 to pendrive/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.11

3/ reboot with installed partition on pendrive and it will take a long time

4/ post installation

4a/ install clover onto hdd

4b/ using clover configurator to mount the efi partition on hdd

4c/ copy efi folder from EFI-Kenjiloc.zip to /Volume/EFI (may rename efi to efi.old before)

4d/ copy dsdt.aml and ssdt-4.aml from pendrive/efi/CLOVER/ACPI/patched to /Volume/EFI/efi/CLOVER/ACPI/patched/

4d/ using kext wizard to install some kexts from EFI-Kenjiloc.zip to /S/L/E

Done and reboot. You may boot El Capitan from hdd.

I have install OSX 10.11. But i can't boot El Capitan from hdd after install Post Installation.

I am using:

Dell Inspiron N5110

Intel® Core i7-2630QM Processor (2.0GHz base, up to 2.9GHz,Qual Core,8T,6MB L3)

Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 1030 with Bluetooth v3.0+HS

Ram : 8 GB
nVidia GeForce GT 525M.

I am trying to install 10.11.5 directly.  (N5110 i5 2410M, Intel HD3000, Intel WIFI to be replaced) So far so good. 

 

For beginners: You will need to install clover going to customization (after selecting USB drive, of course), and select Install for UEFI (it will select the next set, leave it), and then make sure to select OsxAptioFixDrv-64 under Drivers64UEFI to prevent not booting.

 

Also, at 2l step, copy all 10.10 kexts to "other" folder besides 10.11

You will need a USB mouse to setup.

 

I was able to finish install, and clover install, but cannot boot without USB

 

Edit: I had a hard time figuring out how to boot from HD, until realized Mohamed's Tutorial referral to Clover boot options icon.

 

After that, was able to boot 10.11.5 straight from HD.

 

Still no sound.

then in customised tab click on audio and click VoodooHDA and then install it will surely bring your audio back
