I recently managed to install Mavericks on an Intel Pentium D. I then decided I would try Yosemite so I got the installer ready and booted it. It started booting and then loaded up the kernel.

However after I tried to get installer working I got invalid user opcode 64bit. I think it happens after got root device =..

..

I have tried patching pthread.kext tried a different kernel and re made the installer. Are there any more suggestions.

BTW the error keeps looping every half a second so it looks like this

Thanks in advance

Give this kernel a try. Its built to the latest Yosemite XNU source and holds some improvements over previous versions,

The kernel causes an instant restart after it is loaded. I tried my working kernel with the new kexts and frameworks but still the same error. I did however manage to get ....port 8000 before it went to invalid user opcode.

Use the kernel I linked you to and for Chameleon/Enoch use the following boot flags, -f -v UseKernelCache=No

For Clover type the following into boot arguments, UseCaches=No

It still restarted after it was loaded. Also the boot flags that I use are:

-v -f  UseKernelCache=No cpus=1 npci=0x3000 pmVersion=0 -nossse3bit

1. write your hardware specifications in your signature because no one else can give you a useful answer. !!

2. Which Yosemite version are you using?

3. If you use 10.10.5 Build 14F27a, then let everything in original condition, make possible any changes in /S/L/E/.

4. use the kernel, that Shaneee has you advised and save the kernel into the folder /System/Library/Kernels/ !!!

( If the folder does not exist, create the folder and install the kernel there )

5. install Enoch- or Clover bootloader

6. install nullpowerManagement.kext and possibly the drivers for keyboard and mouse, as well as the Chipset driver, if necessary in to the folder: /Extra/Extensions/

7. boot with following boot flags: -v- f kext-dev-mode=1 npci=0x2000 UseKernelCache=NO GraphicsEnabler=No (cpus=1 ? )

My specs RC410-M Motherboard

Intel Pentium D - CPU

ATI Radeon 200 Xpress series - Graphics Card2GB Ram

My GPU is not supported (I know)

I can't remember what my hard drive is but it is ide. Strangely the SuperViataa.kext (something like that) works with the HD

I didn't use Clover because didn't show my HD, any suggestions

Finally I am using the installer for 10.10.0. I think that is why the kernel recommended by Shaneee didn't work.

you can also test the other kernel versions, however, the kernel works very stable and fine with Yosemite 10.10.5 and should also work with your CPU.

Here youcan find the other AMD kernels: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/285580-database-of-current-working-amd-kernels/

I do not know whether there is a solution for your graphics card, since I'm stumped. You can try to create a DSDT in which you inject the graphics card. The other variant using EFI-string fit into the org.chameleon.boot.plist, or to boot using a ROM file. I have no experience with your graphics card.---> it is better to use an OS X compatible graphics card.

see here, even under Snow Leopard no chance to work your graphics card:

Can I download 10.10.5 combo update and update the installer.
