Hi,

I didn't buy my notebook Acer Travelmate B115-M-42RQ to make it a hackintosh. Linux is running pretty neat on it. But I'm curious on how well OS X (Yosemite or Mavericks) would perform on this machine and if I can get it to work at all.

-Pentium N3530 QuadCore (needs patched kernel because of unsupported CPU?)

-4GB RAM

-Intel HD graphics (not sure which one precisely)

Can anyone comment on this kind of hardware? And how would I install in this case? (I've recently done only vanilla installs)

Thank you!

I never really intended to install OS X on this particular machine, I bought it as a cheap notebook for surfing and checking mails etc.. while traveling. And it does a pretty good job running elementary OS (maybe you should check it out, it's Ubuntu based but has a more polished, OS X-like desktop). Fantastic battery life by the way. And completely quiet (no fan, swapped HDD for SSD).

I was just curious ;)
