ALC1150 no audio on 10.10? x99 board.

Hi everyone,

Looking for some help with getting my audio working on 10.10.

I'm using an MSI gaming 7 x99s board which has the ALC1150 Realtek.

Upon boot into Yosemite, there's no devices and therefore no sound. Could someone point me in the right direction as to how to tackle this problem? I would think its fairly common - everything else works like a treat but having no sound sucks a bit!

If you need me to post cfgs from anything, let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Clover

Installation  (4 steps)

  1. Audio_ID Injection (select one method)
    1. Clover Injection
      1. Download/config-audio_cloverALC-x99.plist.zip
      2. Add config.plist/ACPI/DSDT/Patches/Rename ALZA to HDEF

    2. ssdt/x99/onboard and HDMI audio
      1. zip.gif  SSDT-1.aml.zip   433bytes   85 downloads

    3. RampageDev X99.dmg/ssdt.aml
      1. .dmg audio instructions are not current

  2. Restart
    1. Verify IOReg/HDEF/layout-id/<01 00 00 00>
      1. No HDEF/Wrong layout-id, Audio_ID injection failed.
        1. Try Audio_ID Injection same/different method
        2. See Problem Reporting, below

  3. Codec Patch
    1. cloverALC/Clover patched
      1. Download/config-audio_cloverALC-x99.plist.zip  (same as above)
        1. Add config.plist/KernelAndKextPatches/KextsToPatch/10.9.4-10.10-/x99 ALC Onboard Audio

      2. Download/Double Click/audio_cloverALC-100.command.zip

  4. Restart

Okay so I'm having a bit of trouble (quite possibly me being an idiot today) following this guide.

  1. Add config.plist/ACPI/DSDT/Patches/Rename ALZA to HDEF

Does that mean to copy the downloaded config.plist to folder /ACPI/DSDT/Patches/Rename ALZA to HDEF or /CLOVER/ACPI/DSDT/Patches/Rename ALZA to HDEF on the EFI partition?

Where does  SSDT-1.aml.zip  get put once unzipped?

And finally,

  1. Add config.plist/KernelAndKextPatches/KextsToPatch/10.9.4-10.10-/x99 ALC Onboard Audio

Again, not 100% sure on where this plist should be placed?

Really appreciate it - if we can get it working I'll throw a little donation your way as it's the last hurdle in my hackintosh being 100% functional :)

Or not sure if it just means to add the downloaded text into the /EFI/CLOVER/config.plist

1 - Add this in your config.plist, and make a test:

<key>ACPI</key>
<dict>
<key>DSDT</key>
<dict>
<key>Patches</key>
<array>
<dict>
<key>Comment</key>
<string>Rename ALZA to HDEF</string>
<key>Find</key>
<data>
QUxaQQ==
</data>
<key>Replace</key>
<data>
SERFRg==
</data>
</dict>

If you want send me your config.plist.

Like @toleda says, you need choose one method. Clover or ACPI tables.

Hi,

I think I messed my config.plist up, I'm thinking I'm going to remove it and reinstall clover tonight. The only changes I had made to the original was a fake ID of 0x67B01002 in the ATI box to make sure my R9 290x works correctly. When I installed Clover I used this guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjMXkB2wMWE and followed it exactly.

The boot flags I use are -v npci=0x2000 kext-dev-mode=1

I've attached a link to the one I made a mess of https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5JPP-vBxaYiOTRtYldQeVRVdDQ/view?usp=sharing

I'm not sure how easily you could open clover config and save a new .plist (with my boot flags) and the additions. I don't have access to a MAC at work so can't do it unfortunately :(.

I notice when I boot I get messages about sound assertions.

I really do appreciate the help and as I said will throw a donation your way for your time.

Try this:

Edits required

KextsToPatch:

Add 10.9.4-10.10-/x99 ALC Onboard Audio as shown

t1-10.9-10.11-AppleHDA/Realtek ALC1150 is not correct, the script will fix

Run audio_cloverALC...command to fix config.plist and install required 1150 files

Correct x99 audio config.plist

Many thanks for your replies, I should get the time tonight to attempt to implement these.

I'm editing the .plists via a text editor - you seem to have a nice tool to the editing @Toleda ?

I've bought a new SSD today especially for my hackintosh so I'll have a fresh install along with a totally clean config.plist to make the adjustments to.

Again, I appreciate all of the help provided, I've managed to get wireless and ethernet working but audio is busting my balls!
