Cam2363
I need a hackintosh that can do Imovie and Garageband but nothing to graphics intensive or in need of any power. Here are my parts Gigabyte GA-H61N-USB3 Corsair CMX6GX3M3A1600C9 XMS3 DDR3 1600 MHz PC3 12800 Nvidia Geforce GT 610 So what cpu should i get? An i3? Pentium? and I need it to be around the 60-100 Range and what OS X would i need to install? Mavericks? ML? Lion? And would i need any kind of Kexts or DSDT for it to work? In advance thanks for your time if you read this and post a helpful reply!
Allan
Take a read here: The right hardware for your Hackintosh IMHO the GT 610 is good for medium users, and i5 CPU is great. OS X Mavericks or Yosemite is stable and very compatible with the most actual hardware.
Jimmiegin
Think Allan said it all really but here is my 2 pence. I was running Logic Pro X on an old Optiplex with 8GB RAM DDR2 with a Q6600 Core 2 QUAD and the GT610 and that was quite enough..... Up to a point!. If you have discrete graphics (GT610) then I would say you could throw in just about any socket 1155 CPU your budget will allow. Don't think you will need to be worrying about DSDTs or anything like that. You will most likely need a kext or patching for audio depending on your install method but it will all be included in the steps of the install method of your choice. My advice is to use Clover method following the guide form the rampage.dev site I think is in my sig down below? Its super simple when you follow the guide and works perfectly! IMO Clover wins hands down compared to Chameleon but they both work. As for what iteration of OS X to install? Yosemite! Hope your project goes well! Allan
@Cam2363 just open 1 topic about your doubt. This: What CPU should I get that's compatible with these parts And this: Are these parts compatible? Will be deleted!
