APFS on external SSD won't boot :(

Did you select the plugins for upgrade as well?

Try with Clover 4533 - latest Some people were having no luck with 4522. There is now ApfsDriverLoader to be used instead of apfs.efi. Loads the apfs from the container itself. So no more updating / patching required.

Nope. Something akin to "Your computers firmware needs to be updated" gets displayed. And that was booting with an Oz updated with the 10.14 apfs.efi. Neither direct install nor boot with Oz after install via Clover works. FirmwareFeatures was the only one that changed as far as I could see. If you kindly share your FakeSmc which is working for you, that would be great!

Anybody got a hint how to get around the 10.14 SMC issue?

The difference is demonstrated by cyberdevs reasonable reply. Welcome and happy hackintoshing!

Tracing back the AMD GPU wakeup issue to its origin

Did you decode your gpu bios as per VLADs guide and check if your connectors are the same as the one in the Baldi frame buffer? Or just use AtiFramebufferUtility. edit: corrected an autocorrect change

Just a general advisory: Do also check if your GPU has a dual bios Legacy/Uefi. My Sapphire R9390 Nitro 8GB has one and to enable UEFI one needs to push a button so that the LEDs will turn off.

The important part is WHAT goes INTO the gfx section for a specific card. And for that a repo is exactly whats needed in contrast to having the info all over the place. Otherwise the DSDT would indeed get "interesting"

@Mieze and/or IM in general: Is there a way to have something like approved solutions tags in a thread linking to the specific posts and/or file on the top or bottom? Like: 7790 SSDT ... R9 390 SSDT ... RX580 SSDT ... etc.? And +1000 for cyberdevs comment: You guys/gals rock! EDIT: I am thinking of a programmatic solution where this stuff is added if the OP or a MOD sees a worthy post and can just tag it and it will be highlighted. Not some poor soul doing that by hand.

Maybe pick up a used board with cpu and ddr3 on the cheap meanwhile?

@cyberdevs Didn't look at your signature until now. My advice would be to upgrade to a newer board mainly due to your DDR really limiting your 7790 in any case. If that is practical for you, that is. I upgraded my rig from DDR3 1600 to 2133 and there is a definite gain. My 390 was definitely bootle necked by the RAM-CPU bandwidth. In your case it would be quite "magical";)

@cyberdevs there is a thread around about patching old gpu bios with an uefi addition.
