So far after trying to get some of the update leopard apps like safari 3 and dashcode, im always met with an "unexpectedly quit" window. has anyone figured out a way to run them under tiger. ive tryed poking around the app packages to see what can be modified but so far ive had no luck.

Well should have searched, seems too many part of the apps are making calls to parts of the API not available under tiger.

Hm yes... The new apps need the new frameworks and many of them cant run on tiger!

If you open the program (show package contents) and open the binary (in the MacOS folder) with the terminal then you can see the error! :)

So no way to install the Leopard apps!

But in that long deleted thread that was here a bit after Leopard launch and leak in WWDC, some people installed (with some work) spaces on their Tiger Machines.

I have just installed Dashcode, ran it through a few paces and no problems....yet but then I really did not push it too much with the app. I was able to install a widget on my deaktop, as seen in the screenshot. I am running JaS's 10.4.7 with his 10.4.8 SSE3 patch

Can you upload the new DashCode?

By following a ling from this site, I went to:

and the first link or two had already been taken down but about half way down the page was this link:

SO far, it seems to work but then as I said, I did not nreally put the software through the mill. Maybesoon, when time permits.

I'm pretty sure that dashcode is the one on the Macbook DVD, so it isn't the same one from Leo.

Sorry, my bad then. I did not look at it that closely. I was just eager to grab it, try it out. Not sure how many others have ever felt that same way, lol

Dashcode was previously leaked for Tiger 8it was shipped with some Apple Hardware-bundled DevTools), so it doesn't surprise me.
