skanero Posted October 9, 2006 Share Posted October 9, 2006 Hi! This is my first post in here, i Live in Chile, so sorry about my English. I installed OSX86 10.4.6 this way: 1. Burned in to DVD 2. Made the FAT32 partition 3. Erase that partion and "format" it in dvd boot 4. Installed The first time i booted using Acronis Os Selector a blue screen with a cursor like a beach ball spining was on the screen, i have to reboot. booted again but got another thing: http://img118.imageshack.us/img118/7772/photo000yx7.jpg that awsome apple, that nice, and pretty apple appeared, BUT after a few seconds, let's say 30, the circle with the slash appeared too, and the strange thing down, keeps moving i did also that fast pressing F8 button and show me this. http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/5310/photo0001ye1.jpg as you can see in the pictures, i spent all night trying to make this thing work... now, i'm out of ideas, i also tryied to disable one core from the bios. nones, didn't worked for me.... What i have: Intel Pentium D 2.66Ghz (dual-core i guess) Intel Mother Board (don't know the model) 1024 MRam Ati Radeon 9600 pro..AGP (it says saphire on top of fan) LG CD DVD Recorder that's all Thanks for your help Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Rammjet Posted October 9, 2006 Share Posted October 9, 2006 During the installation, when you get to the window where you are to click the Install button, you must first click the Customize button and choose packages for your computer. Click the little arrow next to the patches category to reveal the individual packages. Select Intel or AMD packages, not both. Select SSE2 or SSE3, not both, depending upon the capability of your processor. Select the Combo Update to get the latest version of OSX. skanero Posted October 10, 2006 Author Share Posted October 10, 2006 i did what you said. -formated the entire hard disk -install windows xp -made 20GB partition (Fat32) with partition magic -erased and "formated" the partition with 10.4.6 dvd -installed osx86 with sse3 and the combo pack -made the dual boot with acronis os selector. Now the problem is that when i select mac os i get an error that says HFS+ Partition Error Any ideas? My MSN is skanero@gmail.com THANKS!!!!! Rammjet Posted October 10, 2006 Share Posted October 10, 2006 HFS+ Error could be from two sources: 1) the MBR needs repaired. There are lots of Windows/Linux utilities (like Fdisk) to repair MBR. The Recovery Console on the Windows install disk has FIXMBR. 2) Acronis isn't configured correctly. Try booting the OSX install DVD. When it asks you to press F8, do that to see the bootloader. Select your OSX partition and boot into it. This will verify that nothing is wrong with your OSX installation and that one of the two problems above needs to be addressed. skanero Posted October 10, 2006 Author Share Posted October 10, 2006 i read that thar error could be passed by transforming the partition from logical to primary. i did that and now when i boot osx86 from acronis it gets me to winXP now i'm really stuck and don't have an idea on how to fix that. help?? plzzzz Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rammjet Posted October 10, 2006 Share Posted October 10, 2006 Try this: Go to the Acronis boot window. Right-click on the Windows icon and select Copy. Right-click on this new copy and select Properties In General Properties, give the icon a new name In Partitions, click on the OSX partition and then click the Active box. Save it. Looks like you cant boot osx just by itself. so looks like i gotta install xp and the other funny thing was os selector and again it was answered so this is a thread im definately gonna have to bookmark. WolfNM Posted May 11, 2007 Share Posted May 11, 2007 I tryed to copy WinXP boot on acronis, and make it partition to mac.... but when i boot the mac... winxp still boots.... with everything of my c: drive.... and still that weird sign when i boot...=/ any help? at vmware... he loads and i hear some Mac voice.... but no screen....
