macmaniac
I have found a solution for the problem with DVDSP importing .m2v files created by compressor. This worked for me and I tested it by breaking it again and fixing again and rebooting a few times to make sure it stays fixed. I replaced /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/AppleVA.framework with the AppleVA.framework from the 10.4.6 update (v3) package, that was it, worked for me, haven't found any problems yet. Tested with 10.4.7 and 10.4.8 worked for me with both.  -Todd   Just tested and can confirm this works. Awesome work, Todd. souled
I upgraded from 10.4.7 with the SSE3 update, and I can no longer reboot or shutdown. At first I thought it was just the 'About this Mac' window that was giving me problems. Under that window, if I select 'Software Update...' or 'More info...' the desktop reloads on me.  When I try to reboot, shutdown, or logout, the same thing happens. It looks like it logs out and the resolution changes back to 1024x768, but then it just reloads the desktop. It's as if I restarted, but I didn't  What should I do?  edit: sudo reboot works, fyi. Guest BuildSmart
If your running 10.4.7 update with the pkg's avalable now.If you have an older version wait till tomorrow and I will be posting combo updates for sse2 and sse3. Jas, you may find that amavisd-new (or anything that uses Convert::UUlib) doesn't run with an issue about a missing symbol. Â I had to fix it at the source level due to a conflict in architecture (I ended up combining two seperate builds and fully tested) and I've created and attached an installer so you can either add it to your package (better concept) or just add it to the DVD and require it (not so good but works). Â I've resolved the issue where it couldn't detect the OPA Hardware Identifiers using an app like the Maya Autodesk Product Configuration Wizard with 88E8050/0x436111AB 88E8053/0x436211AB hardware and I've confirmed that it works without edits so you might want to add this to the selectable ethernet options since it's a popular Gigabit Ethernet. Â With the decrypt on the fly extensions available I'm not sure why this hasn't been adopted in favor of decrypting the files because I believe that some files are removed that don't need to be and this makes the upgrade process tedious. Â If you need/want a hand putting together a better Installer DVD, contact me off forum and I'll help you with it. Guest BuildSmart
I found another issue with MySQL, seems that the reentrant tables are corrupted so the program isn't thread safe, as a matter of fact, it dies a horrrible death if you hammer the mysql server. Â I just did a rebuild (universal as always) after some minor source patching to resolve the thread issue and mysql has been running fine under the new build as I hammer it to death (attempting to). Â Due to it's size, I can't post it here and I'm not interested in distributing it as a stand alone so when you're ready Jas, let me know and I'll arrange for you to obtain it. Rammjet
Try booting into safe mode with F8 and enter -x. But you probably won't be able to download using safe mode, so you might want download Pacifist to your Windows drive and then copy it over if you get booted.
