flava
Hi all I am new here so hope I am posting this in the right section. I currently have Mountain Lion 10.8 installed on my Dell optiplex 755 I have made a Maverick's usb install drive but every time I get to select where I want to install Maverick's none of my hard drives are visible, the only drive it shows is my usb drive which has the Mavericks installation on it There are mixed views weather or not Maverick's can be installed on a Dell optiplex 755 some say it can be done and others say it can't there is a topic here http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/290558-disk-does-not-appears-dell-optiplex-755/ but it is not that clear how it was done any help would be much appreciated Thanks in advance My pc is as follows Dell optiplex mini tower Processor 2.19 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Memory 4 GB 666 MHz DDR2 SDRAM Graphics ATI Radeon HD 5000 1024 MB

craigwn
your install is almost identical to mine... except i have a hd6450 not a 5xxx. The only kext i needed was IOPCIFamily.kext from 10.8.5 as the one in mavericks panics on this machine at the moment. I have attached the file I used, plus a DSDT which i found elsewhere on the forum (Sorry I am not sure who originally posted this, but it is their work not mine) with these 2 files i got through install, (using myhack) I then had to boot using -f flag to copy the kext into s/l/e then it has booted fine ever since, and most things appear to be fixed in the DSDT, sleep etc... I'm running bios A22. p.s. if anyone else is using these files, I have the optiplex 755 SFF 755 Mavericks.zip Edited November 1, 2013 by craigwn

craigwn
Just a quick note mine is the 755 sff not the mini tower, so that DSDT may not work the same for you, but then again I'm not sure which system it was made on, they all use the same chipsets etc.. so you may want to test it out once you have your system up and running. flava
Just want to say a BIG thank's to Craigwn for all the help I now have Maverick's installed on my Dell optiplex 755 with everything working the only thing i still need to sort out is the kext for the ATI Radeon HD 5000 1024 MB graphics card, I did try using the kext I have which worked for Mountain Lion (AMDRadeonAccelerator.kext) but still not successful so if anyone can help with that I would be most grateful Thanks again Craigwn

AkimoA
( google lspci fpr osx ) install reboot open terminal run a lspc -nn find the device and vendor id of your 5xxx Series and add it to your Mavericks kexts open the (right click show packages) AMD5000Controller.kext / AMDRadeonX3000.kext Info.plist in there look for IOPCIMatch under JuniperAccel. Part and add your dev/ven like the examples there AMDAccelerator -> is a ML Kext not existing anymore in Mav so u´ll have to find the above mentioned 2 once u done that reinstall both with Kext Utility (drag and drop onto the tool) boot with GraphicsEnabler=Yes (and if needed with the Framebuffer for whatever 5xxx u have) good luck
flava
Just wondering if someone could edit my dsdt file to work with the ATI Radeon HD 5450, I have tried to do it manually by editing the kext files but it is still not working Thanks in advance for any assistance any of you can offer DSDT.aml.zip
the_painless
say flava, did you do anything special to get the internal network working? On 10.8.4 I had it working perfectly, but I'm now trying for hours to get the damn network going. I tried using AppleIntelE1000e.kext and Intel82566MM.kext, no luck. Everything else is working, even Standby (never had that working since 10.5...).

So, my current situation is that I can boot into the Installer for Catalina by Clover, mouse and keyboard work, however my SSD isn't detected at all. I have tried using AHCIPortInjector and SATA-Unsupported but still no luck.
