I am wondering how to set up the XP bootloader to make it boot X86 and windows. Do I have to set the partition as active as I can't get into windows, only x86. Boot Windows. Insert the OSX install DVD. Find the chain0 file on the DVD and copy it to your C:\ drive. timekeeper Posted October 4, 2006 Share Posted October 4, 2006 That's what I did, I used the downloaded chain0 file from the guide, but now at the XP bootloader screen, it just goes back to the same screen instead of booting MacOSX 10.4.7. I prefer my Windows partition active and to use the Windows bootloader. Any suggestions? trav1085 Posted October 4, 2006 Author Share Posted October 4, 2006 I can't get Acronis, because I'm not paying and I quit torrenting. I can't boot into Windows, when It set it active in gparted it just gets an Error loading operating system. I just installed it, and it worked fine before so I'll use the Darwin bootloader.
