Hello Manor it's nice to see that someone has the same GPU as me, I thought I was the only one. I saw your previous guide on installing ML with the netkas kexts.

Is there still the cold boot bug in Mavericks DP1 with the ati 6950? And have you successfully installed Mavericks with Acceleration using the 6950?

Sorry there were a lot of questions, it's just I saw this post and noticed your name.

Will it work OOB with any iteration early than 10.7.5? Just curious: I used to think the 6950 would work with Mountain Lion only - and only in a dual graphics configuration.

In my case the latest version, that works semi-properly is 10.7.5 (if it doesn't work right away, you have to apply the GPU Update that comes from the Sapphire Mac GPU). It works without the need of a second GPU and by using FBRotate you can make it boot straight to desktop (without cold boot bugs), however you will have problems with MSAA/OpenCL. Generally HD69XX are the worst cards you can possibly put in a hackintosh. Even original Macs won't work with them.

That was the information I previously had. I wonder why, since the IDs for Cayman cards are present, and also the other Radeon 6000 series are perhaps the easier GPUs for hackintoshes, generally speaking.

All the best!

Its not the controller, the problem is in the Accelerator which fails to init/alloc the memory properly. Don't know why, but this happens for some 7XXX users too. Hopefully the new AMD GPU's will improve the drivers (the new MacPro is supposed to include AMD GPU), but that might not happen.

With this AMDRadeonX3000.kext, FakeSMC and Clover (with BIOS.aml - no DSDT injection), no nullcpuPM, GE=No, single HD6950:

10.9 GM starts from the first time. Menu is transparency, in my profile: ATI Radeon HD 6xxx (native). Full QE.

But the system keeps crashing in the "graphics" applications: quickTime, final cut e.t.c.
