  1. Hello guys, I would like some help with setting up my mini PCI-E to USB adapter with an Edimax 7811UN USB. I have an empty mini PCI-E slot for my Asus Zenbook UX302 and I installed the mini PCI-E card and the usb, but the usb, nor the PCI device is being detected in my setup. I also installed the driver listed here: http://www.edimax.us/html/english/frames/b-download.htm I am running Mavericks. Here are the devices that I have: http://www.amazon.com/Edimax-EW-7811Un-Wireless-Adapter-Wizard/dp/B003MTTJOY http://www.amazon.com/Micro-SATA-Cables-PCI-E-Adapter/dp/B008LWLH60 I cannot boot my computer unless I have a device other than a hard drive(Bootloader USB, mini PCIE SSD, etc.). The computer boots to the BIOS and I look for a boot device, and it asks to select a boot path. So I select <EFI> and I see <apple> and then <extensions> and then <...>

    R9 280x HDMI audio

That is very strange. Try these steps to see if you can get it to work: Go into System Preferences, then select Sound, and then select output. Make sure that your HDMI device is selected. If that doesn't work try doing the steps below. Add device id into ATI7000Controller.kext. Go into System/Library/Extensions and right click ATI7000Controller.kext and select "Show Package Contents" Proceed through the contents folder and open info.plist. Edit the info.plist and add this device id: <key>IOPCIMatch</key> <string>0x67981002</string> Save the file as ATI7000Controller.kext to the desktop and replace the file in S/L/E/ after words run kext utilitiy to repair permissions.

    Toshiba L740

Hello, I am surprised that the VoodooBattery.kext is not working as it is very broad in terms of the system it supports. Just out of curiosity, what specs do you have?
  4. Hello everybody. I have installed Mavericks on my Asus Zenbook UX302la(listed in my signiture), and have almost everything working great except for the: Touhchscreen(I don't mind this not working) Wifi(I have a Mini pcie to usb adapter with usb wlan coming in the mail, so it will work) Brightness Controls in terms of backlit keyboard (Fn F3/F4) doesnt work, but the screen brightness controls (Fn F5 and F6) are semi working with a DSDT patch found here Currently I would like to solve the Brightness issue. The problem I am having is when I boot up my computer, the brightness appears to be dimmed and the brightness controls do not work. When I press the sleep button on the login screen and then wake the screen, the screen becomes brighter and the brightness controls work. I have checked the DSDT editor's debug option, but there are no warnings or errors, just optimizations. Then I thought, could there be an error of kexts? I deleted kexts that I thought might be causing the strange issue at the login, such as ACPIBrightness, but returned with nothing. Currently I am using Rehab's AICPM kext, which works with haswell. Is it possible to create a launchd script as a startup applicarion that will execute a sleep and then a wake command, so that I will be able to control the brightness on the screen. Please help me get the keyboard backlight and screen brightness working. Thanks!
  5. Thank you. That shouldn't be a problem.
  6. I have successfully installed OS X Mavericks onto my Asus Zenbook UX302LA laptop and have almost everything working, except for the following: Not Working: Wifi( Intel N 7260, Device Instance Path: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_08B1&SUBSYS_C0708086&REV_6B\4&33C43F56&0&00E3) Two finger scroll Touchscreen( Unknown driver) Brightness Controls Below, I have attached the driver for the N 7260 on Linux, which can possibly be ported to Mac OS X. If the driver cannot be ported, I could add my device ID somehow. If this is all not possible, then I suppose I could use one of my PCIE WIfi cards from another computer. Thanks. http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/iwlwifi?action=AttachFile&do=get&target=iwlwifi-7260-ucode-22.15.8.0.tgz
  7. Thanks that worked. I ended up having to transfer more files by restoring my partition to a 500gb external storage. Now I get an error booting up my partition below. https://www.dropbox.com/s/6hzffs9xj3mymol/2013-12-28%2001.38.09.jpg I also noticed that the display override in S/L/Displays/Overrides hasn't taken any effect and runs in 720p. I booted into my partition by installing Chimera 2.2.1.
  8. It could be your gpu based upon what others are saying about Nvidia mobile graphics. Make sure that your device ID in /System/Library/Extensions/NVDANV50Hal.kext(view contents revealing info.plist) is the same as your model for your Nvidia 310M. Your device ID should be: 0X0A75 and your vendor ID should be: 0x10DE For example: <key>IOPCIMatch</key> <string>0X0A75</string> Use these links as a reference to help assist you: http://www.osx86.net/files/file/638-geforce-310m-10-8-2/ http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/281352-stuck-iobluetoothhcicontroller-calling-registerservice/
  9. Considering that OS X Mavericks is free from the Mac App Store, it may also be obtained by a P2P torrent. If you can now download it by fixing your smbios.plist, that works as well.
  10. How can I copy my mach_kernel from the root of my myhack usb to the root of my Mac OS X partition? I installed Mac OS X Mavericks already, but the kernel that is installed in the root is the vanilla kernel and not the patched one for haswell-based cpus. So far I have tried: "cp -R mach_kernel /Volumes/dev/disk1s2/" The patched mach_kernel could also be replaced in the Library/Packages/BaseSystemBinaries.pkg, but I cannot find a way to replace the file. I do know that there are methods in unpacking the package, but the permissions on the file disable me from doing so. Here is the picture of my list of drives:
  11. Hello jradomski, I tried using myhack as well and so far it has only left to problems. I was able to boot into the installer, but with an error message stating that I must restart my computer. I am not sure what was missing, but just as Rehab stated, we are better off using a vanilla install to make sure we have all essentials in-place Try using various bootflags such as npci=0x2000 and npci=0x3000. graphicsenabler=no and delete NVidia kexts

OS X 10.9 myHack USB Installer Beta

My menubar is semi-transparent, but I am absolutely certain that I do not have graphics acceleration.

I have never heard of a fusion drive before, but now I am aware of it by my best friend, google. Thanks for the information as I believe it will be helpful to members.

OS X 10.9 myHack USB Installer Beta

Thanks for the reply, I do not think I have acceleration because from my understanding, the ati 6900 series is not fully supported. Try booting with boot flags: -v, -x, -f, cpus=1, busratio=xx, I have to boot with "-v -x" every time I start. The v is "verbose mode" and the x is "safe mode" Then if you can get into safe mode, try and diagnose further problems from there.

OS X 10.9 myHack USB Installer Beta

I have successfully installed 10.9 DP1 and I have yet to install DP7. Is there any way to check and see if I have Graphics Acceleration? The reason I ask if QE/CI works is because the display looks a bit fuzzy as you can see in the picture, but it could also be my monitor display which is a TV.
