changerrs
So, I have been doing a lot of research on hackintoshes and have definitely decided that I am going to build one. I just have a few questions thought. 1) With the new mac pro coming out soon, do you think it will support haswell? 2)if the new mac pro does not support haswell, will i be able to build a hack with a haswell processor? (i am guessing now) 3)Is apple going to release a new OS? something like OSX "Sea Lion"? 11.0 sometime soon?? 4)If i were to build a hack now, and lets say apple does release a 11.0 OSX, do you think I will be able to update? or will apple pull some {censored} that wont let us upgrade from 10.x.x to 11.0? 5) I have been following PC component prices for about 2 or 3 months now and I have noticed MicroCenter has amazing prices for the i5 3570k and the i7 3770k. Has MicroCenter always had amazing deals on their processors? if so, could we predict that they will have an amazing price for a haswell? Because an i7-3770k is a great deal for $229, id rather have the i7 than a haswell for $350-$400 for only a 10% cpu improvement (i will ahve a discrete gpu) so i dont care about the improved integrated graphics. 6) also, any news on any new type of mobos coming out to support haswell? or just new mobos in general from gigabyte or asus? Thanks Sorry for all the questions. Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/287694-new-macprohaswellos-should-i-build-now/ Share on other sites
theconnactic
1) If the new Mac Pro really comes, yes; 2) With meklort's Kernel Patcher Module (Chameleon 2.x), i think - but someone has to confirm it - the kernel can be binpatched to run on Haswell CPUs; 3) Who knows? 4) Eye of the prophet, come to me, already! How can anyone know that? Even some Macs lose support over time! The closer your system is to a modern Mac spec-wise, the more likely it will be supported by future releases; 5) Don't know. Nobody knows yet how Haswell will be priced; 6) Google it. All the best! 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/287694-new-macprohaswellos-should-i-build-now/#findComment-1904478 Share on other sites
