besttech Posted February 19, 2013 Share Posted February 19, 2013 I have a lenovo g780 with a core i5 processor. I have been trying to install mountain lion for a while now. Everything I tried I get still waiting for root device error. So i finally tried to make a vanilla usb using http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/280756-guide-the-all-in-one-guide-to-vanilla-os-x-mountain-lion-chameleon-dsdt-for-beginners/ I still get still waiting for root device error. My bios is set to ahci. The only other mode is compatible and i tried that and it still didnt work. Help. Mine is a core i3 with USB 3.0, Hd 4000 Also i get EHCI controller unable to take control from BIOS, AppleUSBEHCI Unable to obtain ownership then still waiting for root device. Everything worked perfectly. can you tell me what options you used both at boot and what drivers/kext's you installed for this lenovo? Mine is HD 4000, Core i3, 6gb ram, 750gb HDD AHCI turned on. besttech Posted May 24, 2013 Author Share Posted May 24, 2013 I think it is because you have the wrong smbios.plist. In chameleon wizard under smbios.plist you should create a new one according to your processor. This will correct the problem. So the smbios you put from the t420 might be the wrong one for your computer.
