Ryanux
Hello, i bought a USB 2.0 & Firewire 400 Combo PCI Card, with these chips : -VT6214 -VT6306 (one for usb, the other for firewire) On the box of the card it is clearly mentionned : "Compatible with Windows 98/ME 2000, XP and MAC OS". Once plugged, it is detected by the system profile correctly, but when i plug some usb devices (i tried with 5 different devices) they are not recognised, not at all. Any help please? wondergod
try returning it, sometimes the answer is simple and maybe you got a defective one. Ryanux
i don't think so, it's new and it's recognised by the system profile... TopazBar
These kind of things are better supported by Window XPhew. Re-run the tests under windows. If things work as expected under windows, then you know it is OSX issue. EDIT: Also, check the manufacture's website to see if they have any drivers. Ryanux
i had a mini cd with drivers but only for windows... i have no windows on my hackintosh system, i'll try out on another PC tomorrow, but i really don't think that it's a problem from the card. Ryanux
no, i used this for the firewire because my mobo (the same as yours) lacks FW, and for 4€ more i got 5 usb ports so it would have been silly to ignore it. TopazBar
10.4.8 is out with "- compatibility with 3rd party USB hubs". Maybe this will help.
