Foxic
I've just got 'Wake for Ethernet Access' to work and Wake on Demand along with it. Now when I turn on the AppleTV2 it wakes my Hack. all this is fine, by my concern is this: Now when ever my girlfriend puts her iPhone 4s on charge (a wall socket charger) it mysteriously wakes my Hack?! I can see the following as the wake reason: Jun 10 01:10:17 Jamess-Mac-Pro kernel[0]: Wake reason: UHC1 Jun 10 01:10:17 Jamess-Mac-Pro kernel[0]: SMC::setPowerState ERROR: smcPublishSleepCause failed (kSMCKeyNotFound) Jun 10 01:10:17 Jamess-Mac-Pro kernel[0]: The USB device WirelessControllerDevice (Port 1 of Hub at 0x1d000000) may have caused a wake by issuing a remote wakeup (2) Jun 10 01:10:17 Jamess-Mac-Pro kernel[0]: HID tickle 157 ms So it's something to do with a wireless device as I have no Wi-Fi on the Hack. Is that normal? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279660-is-this-normal/ Share on other sites

Foxic
Only wireless device connected is a magic mouse. This happened from across the room when my girlfriend put her phone on charge. No one was anywhere near the PC Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279660-is-this-normal/#findComment-1825706 Share on other sites
Gringo Vermelho
That right there is some spooky {censored} James. Maybe it goes like this iphone -> Apple TV -> your hack? Try unplugging the Apple TV from the network and see what happens? Or, the iPhone somehow talks to the mouse? I'm spooked. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279660-is-this-normal/#findComment-1825732 Share on other sites

TH3L4UGH1NGM4N
Ever considered that your girlfriend might be a h4ck3r? I wouldn't sleep on the same wifi network with her if I were you. Just my 2 cents. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279660-is-this-normal/#findComment-1825867 Share on other sites
Foxic
Haha, brilliant. Honestly, my girlfriend's not a hacker, she wouldn't even know how to forward an I.P. :wink2: Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279660-is-this-normal/#findComment-1825880 Share on other sites
eep357
Aside from the obvious hacker girlfriend, iTunes uses usbmuxd for wifi syncing with ios devices to bypass using a ip transfer protocol and the other issues that it would create, so they get handled similar to usb plugged directly into mac, minus the power stuff. Probably putting on charger creates a momentary disconnection so mac sees same as if keyboard was unplugged and back in real quick. Just feel lucky it always shows up. Could disable wifi sync for device in itunes and see if behavior is different. Foxic
Definitely something to do with iTunes, if I close it I no longer have this issue. The strange thing is that her iPhone doesn't even show in my iTunes over wifi. Mine does and syncs over wifi, but not hers...maybe it's issuing some sort of tickle over the network looking for any connected iTunes accounts and that polling over the network wakes my hack?
