EvilMacMongo
Maybe you guys can help, got SL retail installed successfully, however I cannot get it to boot with or without the modcd. I extracted my dsdt.aml from ubuntu and have no way to edit it. Maybe this will help me... Any ideas? maybe a fix? Edit:: Sorry had to change the dsdt.aml to dsdt.aml.txt so I could upload.dsdt.aml.txt Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/277173-dsdt-biostar-ta990fxe/ Share on other sites
Gringo Vermelho
DSDT can't drive hardware. Usually, if you can successfully complete the install with no DSDT override, then you don't need a patched DSDT in order to boot it. You are probably missing a driver or something else, make sure you have fakesmc.kext installed. EvilMacMongo
well I'm starting to lean back to needing a dsdt. Something about the sb 7x0/8x0/9x0 ata controller doesn't like os x. Unless you guys have a better suggestion. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/277173-dsdt-biostar-ta990fxe/#findComment-1808023 Share on other sites
Gringo Vermelho
I don't know if there's much you can do about that via DSDT. If a fix exists it's probably a very specific one, written especially for the ATI southbridge. Most of the DSDT patches people use are for Intel hardware that is very similar to or the same as what Apple uses. Sometimes just a little nudge is required. It may sound strange but the truth is that the farther away you are from what's used in real Macs, the smaller are your chances of improving compatibility through DSDT patching.
