Chemicalrubber
Ciao, I have an Intel i7 processor with Intel HD 3000 Graphics, as well as an Nvidia GT 540M card which is not supported, but detected in Lion. As I suspect that Geforce.kext is giving random kernel panics at boot (apparently due to unresolved dependencies), is it safe to remove the kext, while keeping the QE/CI and higher resolutions in the Intel HD 3000? Also, what other kexts should be removed? (I suspect NV* and Ge* kexts)
Gringo Vermelho
Yes, those are safe to remove.
The Windows Tweaker
And if you use the nVidia Geforce 9600m GS?
Gringo Vermelho
Well obviously you can't use an nvidia card if you have removed the drivers for it. If you want to use another nvidia card you'll have to find a way to prevent the drivers from seeing the GT 540M, either on injection level or driver level.
