1. Wifi adapter PC Card (type II)

Ciao, anybody knows any PC Card wifi adapters that are compatible with Lion? I think the old Powerbooks had PC Card slots which supported some non-Airport wireless adapters, but that was a long time ago. Anybody who uses the PC Card expansion slot (type II) have anything else to recommend?
2. Remove Geforce.kext?

Ciao, I have an Intel i7 processor with Intel HD 3000 Graphics, as well as an Nvidia GT 540M card which is not supported, but detected in Lion. As I suspect that Geforce.kext is giving random kernel panics at boot (apparently due to unresolved dependencies), is it safe to remove the kext, while keeping the QE/CI and higher resolutions in the Intel HD 3000? Also, what other kexts should be removed? (I suspect NV* and Ge* kexts)
3. Ciao, this tutorial is written after months of failed installations (at least 20) and testing which probably wrecked my laptop by now. The following applies for the Acer Aspire 4750g, a notebook which is really a pain in the ass. However, if other notebooks also have an Intel Core i7 (with sandy bridge Intel HD 3000 integrated graphics) or an Nvidia GT 540M (this card is NOT supported, but detected by Lion), one can also follow some points from this guide to achieve full QE/CI. Of course, credit goes out to tonymac, netkas, etc. who have come up with great utilities and kexts, as well as the Chinese language Acer forums which I ripped the kexts from. Hope that others with the same pain-in-the-ass laptop can stop worrying now. http://yfrog.com/odzygepj Here are the specifications of this model and what is working and what is not: CPU and chipset - Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM - WORKING without DSDT needed, integrated Intel HD 3000 FULLY WORKING Display - 14" HD 1366 x 768 - WORKING at full resolution Graphics - NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 540M with NVIDIA® Optimus™ technology - NOT SUPPORTED as mentioned above, but integrated graphics WORKING. Disable NVIDIA card in BIOS if possible Audio - no idea - WORKING Webcam - NOT WORKING Wireless - Atheros AR9287 - NOT WORKING for me (BUT other forums reports working with kext+fix, haven't tried fix) Keyboard and touchpad - WORKING USB - Not all ports work, USB 3.0 SHOULD WORK with kext And here is what you need: 8GB USB drive or larger Lion installer dmg (from Mac App Store) or Lion installer thumbdrive (from Apple) ##### (as of this tutorial v4.2) Chimera (as of this tutorial v1.7) Bag of kexts - links are below! ##### 1. Download ##### and follow its instructions to create an installer thumbdrive - http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2011/10/#####-install-mac-os-x-lion-using.html 2. Copy the following packages onto the thumbdrive (in an empty folder) - Chimera (bootloader) VoodooHDA 0.2.7.3 (to enable sound) Your favourite kext installer OR ##### (in place of the three options above) IOUSBFamily.kext and IOUSBMassStorage.kext (to enable USB) - http://www.osx86.net/view/2065-iousbfamily.kext_for_non_working_usb-s..html Networking kexts (optional, might not work) VoodooBattery.kext (optional) TIP! - If you need to install it on an MBR partition, use the patcher - http://3rr0rists.net/driver/mbr-patch-for-lion-gm.html (##### cannot install to MBR, only GUID which didn't work for me due to bootloader reasons) 3. Install Lion (simple, not a lot of options) - Partition with GUID unless patched, I suggest patching and using MBR. 4. Reboot and boot new installation using ##### thumbdrive, in single-user mode (-v -s) 5. Mount the root partition in read-write mode (instructions in terminal) 6. 'cd' to /System/Library/CoreServices/"Setup Assistant.app"/Contents, edit Info.plist and delete the lines with keyboard selection and device selection (sudo pico, or copy over with a patched Info.plist floating somewhere from the internet) 7. Exit and finish setup assistant. 8. Copy the folder full of kexts from the ##### thumbdrive to the desktop. 9. Run Chimera pkg and VoodooHDA pkg OR 10. Run #####, selecting Chimera and VoodooHDA ONLY. 11. Reboot (although you would most likely get kernel panic) using ##### thumbdrive back into new installation. 12. Using the terminal, copy the following files: sudo -s mkdir /Extra/Extensions cp -rf /Volumes/(#####)/Extra/Extensions /Extra cp /Volumes/(#####)/Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist /Extra cp /Volumes/(#####)/Extra/smbios.plist /Extra 13. Go to /Extra/Extensions, and delete IOUSBFamily.kext and IOUSBMassStorage.kext 14. Copy the proper IOUSBFamily.kext and IOUSBMassStorage.kext which you downloaded to /Extra/Extensions 15. Run the following in Terminal sudo chmod -R 755 /extra/extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext sudo chown -R root:wheel /extra/extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext 16. Run Kext Utility OR fix permissions, rebuild cache with your favourite utility. Install VoodooBattery (optional) 17. Reboot without ##### thumbdrive in verbose mode. That's it! If network is desired, kexts (http://www.osx86.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=1626) and link for fix (http://bbs.pcbeta.com/viewthread-882193-1-1.html second post) is here. Any file one requires, I can upload upon request! This is my first Hackintosh guide, so please forgive and point out mistakes. Grazie..
4. Ciao, I have installed Lion using ##### onto an MBR partition (after patching installer) with Chimera installed on the MBR. However, it cannot boot Lion without kernel panics. I installed ##### (which comes with some kexts) and all seems to be fine (it boots -v just like the ##### Chimera -v) before a sudden kernel panic. Therefore, without the unnecessary kexts included in #####, what basic kexts should be installed (using #####, manually or otherwise)? Currently I have FakeSMC.kext, the power management disabler and Evoreboot. Alternatively, is there any way to copy the settings from the ##### Chimera on my USB drive or move it to the HD as it boots my Lion system fine?
5. Ciao, I have a 500GB hard disk partitioned as GUID (##### does not support MBR I think) with 250GB for Lion and 250GB for data (FAT32), and of course with the hidden EFI partition in the front. However, I tried installing Chimera, Chameleon (to both EFI partition and Lion partition) but the computer wouldn't boot, stuck at black screen with 'operating system not found'. Any way to boot successfully from HD (without boot CD)? GRUB2 is also a permissible option. Grazie tante.
6. Ciao, I use an NVIDIA GT 540M graphics card and I have just set GraphicsEnabler, and have not installed any NVIDIA kexts. What is the best way to get the higher display resolutions?
7. Hi, my laptop (Acer Travelmate 4750g) built-in touchpad and keyboard (PS/2) are not working even on the first installation screen on Lion. Any fixes?
8. Keyboard not connected

Solved by logging into single-user mode and remounting root as read-write, and editing the setup assistant info.plist and removing keyboard detection. Now, another problem: What is the best way to enable higher resolutions for the screen? Using NVIDIA GT 540 graphics card and have only installed GraphicsEnabler and not any Nvidia enablers.
9. Keyboard not connected

Ciao, Post-installation of iATKOS L1 (10.7.1) yields Setup Assistant screen showing 'keyboard not connected, please connect a keyboard now.' However I do not have a USB keyboard and have already installed the bundled PS/2 drivers for the internal laptop keyboard and trackpad. Is there any way to bypass this?
10. Installation Error | iatKos L1

I have the same error and have tried reburning the dmg many times. The md5 checksum match so let's say there is no media corruption. Any other ideas why this problem occurs?
11. Sorry to go on about an old problem... I have prepared a USB HDD according to the Maldon's guide (not booting but anyway) on another computer it kernel panics just after Chameleon loads and I select the install partition, saying it is "unable to find driver for this platform \ACPI\. I have tried many bootflags including platform=x86pc but nothing works. Any ideas?
12. Lion installation via USB stick using Chameleon

Ciao, I have prepared a USB HDD according to the instructions (not booting but anyway) on another computer it kernel panics just after Chameleon loads and I select the install partition, saying it is "unable to find driver for this platform \ACPI\. I have tried many bootflags including platform=x86pc but nothing works. Any ideas?
13. Installer refuses to boot from USB HDD

Yes, I have removed the packages link and copied the right packages over. To clarify I am unable to boot the base system for installation at all and it boots straight to Windows on the internal HDD.
14. Ciao, I have placed the base install dmg from the GM app onto a HFS+ partition in a GUID USB HDD using a number of ways: restoring to partition, installing Chameleon and copying over dsdt and kext files; using the 'mkboot' script from tseug's guide; using Kakewalk; but my computer (Acer Aspire 4750g) never boots off the USB drive. I have also tried burning ##### and Hackboot onto CDs and they boot fine, but they are unable to boot the USB drive install partition thereafter. Is there any fix (or other ways to install via DVD)? If so, help would be greatly appreciated!
15. Lion installation via USB stick using Chameleon

I am unable to make the USB HDD partition (GUID with the restored dmg) bootable, followed instructions and BIOS settings are correct etc. I've tried using Hackboot but also no luck, apparently it could be down to not having a dsdt.aml?
