MIDI is just needed for keyboards and so. Nothing very usefull for the basic music listener :-)))

Just needed to plugin my 5.1 Creative Digital speakers :-) but something that is compatible

I'm hesitating between the M-Audio Fast Track and the USB UA-1XE Edirol

But of the M-audio there were several bad reviews on apple.com

I would suggest M-audio, as i read on osx86 forums they work well with M-audio drivers for mac. Do a research in the HCL's (hardware compatibility lists) on osx86project.com and see what suits you better. I personally would go for Firewire cards, as they are faster. M-audio has also support for gsif drivers, which are missing for my Edirol fa-66.

Good luck

If I'm not mistaken the M-Audio Fast Track works with ProTools M-Powered..

That's pretty sweet. :)

Yeah that's nice to hear it because the M-audio Sonica Theater isn't easy to find anymore here. They're almost all M-Audio Fast Track's anymore

If you want audiophile-quality sound, go for the PreSonus FireBox. Works great under OS X. I've used both the Audigy NX USB and SB Live! 24-bit USB adapters, and a Turtle Beach Audio Advantage USB as well as Intel HD Audio...bar none, the PreSonus Firebox is superior in sound, build quality, inputs, and outputs. Street price here is $250-$300.

Im using the SB Live! 24-bit USB box... Works great, works with the built in apple control... Has a few problems with plugging in headphones in the front input thing. Have to disconnect the speakers first. Otherwise input and output are working perfectly, sounds great too... it also will work with the creative speakers, it has the DIN-9 cable for them
